What's Your Favorite Crime Movie?

House of Games is one of the archetypal con-man movies, along with The Spanish Prisoner. Both are David Mamet films.

Of course, The Sting is also a great con-man movie. Plus it has Robert Redford and Paul Newman. You can't go wrong with that duo.

A number of my favorites have already been mentioned - and Millers Crossing is near the top, if not the top, depending on the day.

A couple others that I really like are Romeo is Bleeding and Lassiter

The original Ocean's 11, the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.

Its a small lit for me. I don't like foul language, excessive alcohol, tobacco, other "substanes" or excessive "realistic" violence in my films. Aliens, sure. Modern-day LA... no thanks.

In general, I prefer my Bad Guys to not be the protagonists.

What, no love for Bound? That is the only crime film that makes it into my top ten movie list. The twists, the oh-so-smooth transition from planning to execution and the acting were all great, and the cinematography, both for its beauty and its humor, was superb. (And no, it is not at the top of the list for the extra special viewing experience it offers. Not that there was anything wrong with that.)
