My group has done quite a few characters as we enjoy char creation a lot, and it's pretty fun to see what you end with, but then we have never sit to play a game...
Fading Suns. It was made by Holistic Designs, an offshoot of some of the White Wolf staff. I've got the 2nd Edition and the Noble Armada add-on space combat game, both signed by the creators - I got to talk to them about the game at Dragon Con in '99.
It's like a combination of Stargate and Dune, before Paul shows up.
I always liked the Spacemaster books for Rolemaster. And Rolemaster too. People say it's a difficult system to use, but I've no idea since I never got a game going.
I'd like to try Call of Cthulhu, though I've never so much as seen a rule book. Same with Traveller.
I remember starting making up a character for a game called something like Living Steel. The flavor text (quotes) in the rule book sold me on wanting to try it.
I made up a character for Mechwarrior a long time ago, but I never got to play him. (I have played and love Battletech.)
For years, I wanted to play Paranoia, but last year I got to play one game session. Was kind of disappointing.
The Kerberos Club for Wild Talents from Arc Dream Publishing Thousand Suns from Rogue Games (who also publish one of my faves I have played - Colonial Gothic) Tony DiGerolamo's Complete Mafia for d20 from LRGames Serenity from Margaret Weis Productions
