Wheel of Time S3

IDK, I keep thinking why WoT kinda bores me at times. I dont dislike it, but I do go through long periods where I feel like its wheel spinning. It's like only one character can have anything substatnial happen at a time, yet everyone else gets screen time despite nothing particular of note happens for them.
I can respect this. For example, not having read the books, Perrin's story in the show I don't care a lick for, its only because the Ogre is so awesome that those scenes do any kind of entertaining for me.

Matt at least has this cool mysterious "what is happening to him" angle, but I can also respect plotwise his stuff doesn't seem particularly relevant right now.....something probably for the future but not something that will pay off soon.

Yes, he gave them an outline of what was to happen, but its not like he wrote what they produced. He has been vocal about it not being what he wanted and the showrunners have not been shy about Martin being cagey either. Maybe it was the GoT experience that turned him off the writing, maybe he just got bored of it and wanted to do other things? Im not sure, but its clearly not fair to attribute how the series turned out to him. They wrote like 3 seasons with very little input from him.
Well, we will see when the book comes out...

I attribute that a lot more to how Amazon produces things, then I do the books, writing, casting, money for production, etc.. Maybe this would've been a bigger hit somewhere else?
A big part of that is how dang much they have cut from the novels: by the dns of Season 3, we are talking 32 hours of TV adapting 120 hours of audiobook...and a lot of the TV material is new to the show?

Generally speaking, people don't care about Mat for the first two books...then after book 3 he rapidly becomes many people favorite character, and by book 5 is amazing.

Yeah, just seen the dual duel with Galad and Gawain. Great scene - both funny and cool. Really embodies his cocky bravado and desire to see pompous folks taken down a peg or two.

Wow. Just watched all of episode 4 on a proper TV and not my phone. I feel like the series has just hit its first of what I like to call ‘moments of awesome’. Parts of the story where all the details come together into these epic climaxes of storytelling. WoT has many of them. It will be interesting to see how many of them work on the screen.

Beautifully said. It's like you've been following all of these threads being woven together, and suddenly this episode comes (or the moment in the book comes) and you're like, 'OH!' that's the pattern being woven, 'Wow!'

Perrin is going to become a lot more interesting here very soon, given what storylines for him are coming up!
