When shall we 300,000 meet again?

A pal sent me this link to put in the folder I keep in Internet Explorer, I've named "Laughable". But this thing actually annoys me, rather than tickles. If the images aren't clear, or don't come out here, use the hyperlink I've added to view them in their original context. What do you make of it?

Another old Chick tract...

Ol' Chick is very knonwn in this boards, and messages like this has been regularly posted here since I joined in 2000.

Briefling:

He is a very fanatic religious {editied for language}

He is NOT a typical Christian. Most Christian are very nice and tolerant people.True Christianism is, or at least should be, a very tolerant religion.

Jack Chick and others like them are fanactics. Fanatics are always bad, fanatism is bad. Sport fanatics, Muslim fanatics, Christian fanatics of D&D fanactics. No fanatism is good.

-------------------------
Mod's Note: Horacio, profanity, even disguised with alternate characters is not allowed on the boards - you know that. . :D

Please, don't begin a Christian bashing thread like most times this kind of message is post.

Thanks...

Woo! Good ol' Dark Dungeons.
I think I've got a copy of it somewhere in my Chick Tract collection.
Chick's a semi-harmless old coot who, if his writings are any indication, can't handle living in a world that has people who think differently from him very well. He's been around forever.. I'm starting to think he's really a committee.

In other works, he lashes out against Christians who don't subscribe to his exact beliefs, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics, more Catholics, and just about everyone else. I don't think I've ever seen him take any serious shots at Judaism, though.

I do have a little advice, though, but what do I know? so take it however you like: Ignore him. If he doesn't amuse you, just ignore him. Really, he's no different from most of the other anti-D&D groups out there, he just argues his dislike on religious grounds rather than psychological ones. Like Pat Pulling, or whoever, he ignores any counter-arguments, since.. well, what's the point? Changing your mind about something like that won't sell any more tracts ;)

Edit: Horacio is good, Horacio is smart. Listen to mighty Horacio.
Don't even think of Chick in terms of Christianity, but rather in terms of intolerance. The only similarity between him and a Christian is that they both breathe air.

Never heard of him, but agree with your view that fanaticism is a bad thing.

Didn't intend to bash anyone. Still don't.

If any Moderator wishes to remove the thread, work away.

I think what got on my wick was that if someone is (I was going to say "selling", but that's probably not the right word...) *promoting* a religion supposedly based on truth, then publishing a "tract" which (in my opinion) is a bare-faced lie is wrong.
