Which Animal Companions Are Tastiest?

I'm just pleased that so many of you have spoken out in support of the idea of eating Animal Companions. I was expecting outrage or such nonsense. But it looks as though this group is fairly openminded after all. Kudos to all!

Well, given how many cannibals are on this board (and you know who you are) who wouldn't flinch at eating other PCs (where do you think the term "meat shield" came from?), eating animal companions is no biggie. You do what you gotta do, you know?

Actually this might fall under the category of outrage to a small degree.

I have been, in the past, so poor that I had to choose between feeding myself and feeding my cats. My cats ate before I did. Thankfully someone bought me some Ramen noodles which kept me going until I had funds. I can not imagine that any Druid would do less for his animal companions.

Horse might be good. You lose most combat benefits, but you can ride it till it is exhausted and then eat it for dinner. Rinse and repeat, no more foraging for food.

It's not necessary to kill the horse to eat from it. The mongols (or so I have been told) used to tap blood from the horse's neck. Then they drank the blood mixed up with the horse's milk. Very sustaining. The horse lived off the grass of the plains. The men lived off the horses yet protected the horses from outside harm. A perfect partnership.

Anyway, don't thri-kreen really like elves? Of course, there is not a lot of good food around on athas anyway.

Troll Stew?!
Of course! Put it between a bun, tastes like hamburger. Grind it up in a marinara, you've got spaghetti sauce. Freeze it, and you've got a doorstop! :D
But troll steak is the gift that keeps on givin'. Just seal the can after scooping most of it out.

Demiurge out.
