Which DVD's would I need for a Pulp Action/Adventure marathon?

I saw some of the Flash Gordon serials as a kid, and liked them, but whether I'd still think they were any good now... I don't know. (Another which I liked was Captain Marvel.)

Some of the various serials should be available. One move that I remember, but do not know if it's on DVD yet is "The Sun Never Sets', (1939) Douglas Fairbanks Jr (John Randolph), Basil Rathbone (Clive Randolph),
Barbara O'Neil (Helen Randolph), Lionel Atwill (Dr. Hugo Zurof ). Zurof is a mad scientist in Africa who wants to use his invention to induce world chaos; Plucky Britisher John has to try and stop him. I especially remember shots of London with the subtitle "London: Seat of Empire".

This Picture shows our various heroes and heroine; good picture to use for some gaming info.

If you go here -

http://www.imdb.com/search

And do a "Word Search" while choosing "Plots" from the drop down menu you will probably find a treasure trove of possibilities.

Some key words to use might be pulp, adventure, nazis, etc (little help for key words, gang?)

Just asking; does Starship Troopers fit in this genre?

As soon as the snow clears, the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD is MINE, all mine!

Snowed in?

Oregon is having snow issues this winter. They don't generally get a ton of snow, so they don't have the equipment or manpower to deal with it when they do get lots of snow in the rare year like this one.

It will be even worse when the snow clears, and the salt laid down by the city to clear the snow starts to eat into the freeway pavement, causing massive gravel damage to car windows. Window repair guys love this time of the year....

That's what I get for not watching the news (or seeing where he lives).

I, of course, am far too used to snow.
