Which is better Star Wars or Star Trek?

Any thoughts? I like both but I say Star Wars. Anyone else think so?
I don't think you can really compare them directly. Star Wars is fantasy, Star Trek is soft sci-fi.

I like them both on their own merits.

Star Wars (Episodes IV-VI) >> Star Trek: Enterprise

Star Trek (ToS, TNG, Movies II, IV) >> Star Wars (Episode I)

It's obviously no contest. They're each far better than the other.

anything is beter then the star trek:Enterprise crap that upn put out. heck even voyeger and DS9 was better then Enterprise. same goes with episode 1 for star wars, anything is better then "mesa sir jar-jar bink" 2 was also crapy as well, hey aniee, a little hint, NO GIRL WANTS TO BE COMPARED TO SAND YOU RETARD!!!!!!!!!! I guess its true what the say, nothing is as good as the original.

I like both for different reasons. But if I had to pick one then I have to go with Trek because it was the show that got me into Sci-Fi.

As P-cat noted in the another thread - it is not nice to label people as trolls. Please don't do it.

Meanwhile, this ought to be in the Media Lounge...

Sorry. I've read entire heated threads in the past where it went on and on until somebody finally had the nerve to call the whole thing a troll, and then it all stopped. I guess I just wanted to nip this in the bud. My bad!

Sorry, but the best is:
"Raumpatrouille - Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffes Orion"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061289/

all others are pale imitations.

So true...
In a fun way. It holds well against Startrek TOS (- the special effects and color :) ), but bad against "modern" shows. :) Not really surprising...

I would so much like a Reimagination of that. Maybe there is even hope - I heard from a TV Highlights (a "genre" TV magazine) reporter commonly visiting the set of the Stargates, and he brought them Orion-DVDs, and someone seemed to be interested - in watching them. So, hope might be too much. At least there are Americans (or Canadians?) that know the show. And that's at least a start...

When two cosmic forces of endless proportion collide the entire universe, indeed multiverse, stands in the balance. This discussion is what is greater, a devastating volcano that can raise an island, or the tsunami that can cover it? The mountain or the avalanche? The sun or the thunderstorm. Such questions are dangerous to our very existance in that they cannot truly be answered.

There is one way and only one way to settle this, the greatest of all debates. and that is

MORTAL COMBAT!

Young Captain Kirk vs. Han Solo!

Who will win? How will it be decided?!
