8. I don't wait for people, people wait for me.

O Bolares, are you mad? Or what are you?
Have you no wit, manners, nor honesty but to
gabble like a bard at this time of night? Do you
make an ale-house of Morrus's house, that you
squeak out your love of six-sided dice without any mitigation
or remorse of voice? Is there no respect of
place, persons, nor time in you?

That's right, the d12 is so awesome that even Shakespeare named his PLAYS after them.

Isn't Shakespeare called THE BARD? So wich is it, Does Shakespear suck or Bards are great?

I have fond memories of needing 13d10 for one of my characters fire-arms checks in a modified VtM.

In MtG, someone playing a +1/+1 counter deck never has enough d6. Although if stores made boxes of mini spin-down d12s like they do d6s, I would certainly use those instead.

There's also the fabled
d02
, which may actually be a hat, rather than a die, but whatever it is, it is without limit.

No!

Shakespeare was the Sweet Swan of Avon. So says Ben Johnson.

The whole Bard stuff is nothing but slander started by Big Appendix(tm) to get the Bard into the 1e PHB.

Now that you've heard it, you know it to be true.

The d12 is certainly the best die. It has elegant pentagonal faces where every other die* has triangles or squares. It has a shape that is complex enough to be interesting, without having so many faces that it might as well be a sphere. Its face count can be split into halves, thirds, or quarters.

I do appreciate the ascetic minimalism and podiatric deadliness of the d4, but the way it flops on the table disappoints me with every roll, even after 30 years.

*Proper dice, anyway. I'm not talking about all those weird non-Platonic shapes. Yes, d10, I'm looking at you.

Meh, I'm going to go with the d10—because screw Plato! 🤪

To quote Socrates' last words, "I drank what?"
