Which Is The Best Spontaneous Divine Casting Class?

And I see the Shugenja as a divine sorceror.

In many matters, it is: A fire shugenja can have comparable damage potential, and it's not made for melee and heavy armour.

The thing is: The shugenja is almost the only kind of spellcaster available in Rokugan: In order to do magic, you need an external source, and the Kami are the only approved source (though, of course, there's the Maho Tsukai, the blood sorcerers, who use blood in their magic, but they have to hide since Maho is punishable by death).

So the Shugenja is the guy who buffs, the guy who heals, and the guy who blasts away, and he's the one to see about any other magical matter.

I've played the L5R Card game for a long time and fell in love with the CS, so I have to say the shugenja. I think they could easily find a place in a dnd world, they've also got some really awesome spells open to them.

I would have to go with the Mystic, but just barely. They are all very weak. A Divine caster's strength is in a wide spell list, not in slots per day. The Spirit Shaman is my favorite, because choosing Druid spells is very powerful if you use Spell Compendium. Unfortuantely many ofthe SS abilities are really confusing.

I wish. That came from Player's Guide to Eberron. They added sidebars like these for all the "Complete" classes.
Ah, something I don't have in the library. I maybe borrowing some books from a friend of mine.
