Does guild wars have an rpg server? I have followed it for a bit but didnt want to buy it becaue I hate some of the crowd i find in normal mmorpg servers?

There's only one server. That's just for like towns and such, once you go out on the wilderness you are on your own or just with whoever is in your party.

Shadowrun would be my number one pick, and would likely find a decent audience since it uses so many of the fantasy elements people ejoy but puts them into a modern setting (with modern games being one of the smallest niches). It would have done better before Matrix Online came out, but I don't think it would take much for it to beat Matrix Online, unless that game has changed signficantly since beta.

Deadlands could be neat, although I've never played any of the table top games, with an interesting take on supernatural activity, a setting that would seem oddly familiar, and the western look and feel.

Fallout is also a good choice. I was just commenting the other day at how Fallout would make an interesting MMO.

I'd pay to play a good Star Wars MMORPG. But Star Wars Galaxies isn't it.

I'd want a Star Wars game to be like City of Heroes, but with Jedi. City of Jedi, I suppose. :) Or the Jedi Knight games, gone massive. Include tons of Jedi powers and abilities and customization, lots of fun and flashy CoH arcade-like action, and PvP vs. Sith players. Set it well before the time of the movies, to avoid continuity conflicts, and let players carve out their own canon during this largely unexplored period in the Star Wars timeline.

Yeah, I'd play that game.

Actually, there's more than one server, but they are split up amongst different locations. Currently, there's one in the States, one in Korea, and one in Europe. You're automatically put into an optimal server, but apparently you can change servers, but only something like 3 times ever.

Hey all you MMORPG players out there. I am conducting a survey on MMORPG games. Which MMORPG game would you like to see and play based on any of your favorite table-top, board/card game, video game; scifi/fantasy/horror novel or tv show?
I wouldn't mind seeing a Forgotten Realms MMORPG if it were done well. Faerun is a very big place, though, so the initial release of the game would probably include a familiar area of the Realms like the Silver Marches or the Dalelands, and later content patches/expansion packs would add areas such as the Sword Coast, Icewind Dale, the Bloodstone Lands, the Unapproachable East, etc.

And of course, the game couldn't be released until I was good and bored with World of Warcraft, which dosen't appear to be happening anytime soon.

Ah. Gotcha. Yeah, I just knew you don't like pick a server or anything. So no like dedicated RP servers. Thanks for the info though.

See, that's exactly my current problem with Galaxies. From what I've heard from people, they've actually managed to make the game playable which is definately good, but now there are way too many Jedi. That's just not the feel of Star Wars to me.

That's not the feel of Star Wars Episodes IV - VI, definitely not. Setting Galaxies during that time period was a huge mistake, IMO. I can be flexible with established canon, but seeing tons of Jedi running around before a little event called "Return of the Jedi" is just ridiculous, and which is why I avoide SWG like the plague.

Bioware's Knights of the Old Republic managed to have a solid Star Wars feel, with plenty of Jedi action. I believe a Jedi-focused MMORPG could still maintain a true Star Wars feel as well, if done right. Other roles like Soldier or Slicer could be included, but not at the expense of watering down the Jedi.

And that's the thing. As much as I enjoyed both KOTOR games, neither one of them completely felt like Star Wars to me. I mean sure there were Jedi everywhere and wookies and blasters, but it just didn't have the Star Wars "vibe" to me really.
