Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

I was never a huge Bond fan. I saw a few in the 80s, and then some more throughout the years. It wasn't until 2006 or 2007 when Casino Royale came out that I started watching them again. By Skyfall, which I don't remember seeing the franchise just seemed like more of the same. I think by concentrating on other characters it could revive the franchise.

That depends upon how straight you play the organisation. The one distinctive feature shared by all 00 agents is that they have a licence to kill (and, apparently, that they need to have achieved two confirmed kills in order to qualify which, well, let's not examine that too closely). If they have a job description more specialised than "espionage agent", it would probably be "investigative assassin".

I think it would be fun to hear stories of other agents. They could drop easter eggs from Bond's exploits.

WW2 espionage is a very different beast than cold war espionage. First of all, they were just figuring it out. There was a lot of resistance from the Establishment in England to subterfuge. Second, the enemy were Nazis and the stakes were life and death all the time.

The cold wars was more tense and while the stakes were much higher (nuclear war) there was less immediate threat of death.

Bond feels more like a WW2 spy, despite being set later (no surprise given his origins, which we have already discussed). So I wonder if you could prequelize Bond in WW2.

I would go for a hard reboot after Daniel Craigs stint. Could give them the ability to make whatever changes they need to make the concept work.
