What made you assume they were talking about that line, specifically, and not the other 50-odd lines in your post? How is a Royal Navy officer and SBS commando who refuses to fire on asylum seekers more American than English?

It just reminds me of nearly every American post military turned spy story. A real good guy that just couldnt work within the system, until they were allowed to work alongside it in a special assignment yadda yadda. How is a Royal Navy officer and SBS commando who refuses to fire on asylum seekers more American than English?
I mean, when we're 'diagnosing' fictional characters with specific mental disorders from reading a Wikipedia page, it's not really a conversation with any possible conclusion, is it? You're not a doctor, Bond isn't real, and we certainly haven't put him through a strenuous psychological evaluation.Yeap, read it all before. Not once did it not sound like Bond to me. I mean, even his handlers know he is problematic, but thats the thing about sociopaths, they can useful. Best part is, if they dont come back from the assignment you barely feel bad about it.
No, they just did it in the movies, and ignored the results.I mean, when we're 'diagnosing' fictional characters with specific mental disorders from reading a Wikipedia page, it's not really a conversation with any possible conclusion, is it? Mostly because those are the U.K.-specific markers, rather than the rest which is standard government action hero. What made you assume they were talking about that line, specifically, and not the other 50-odd lines in your post?
So obviously they were talking about the 99% non-UK specific stuff. Because to selectively pick out the 1% couple of references to the UK and say “that’s very American” would be quite bizarre.Mostly because those are the U.K.-specific markers, rather than the rest which is standard government action hero.
Too bizarre for the internet though? That'd be about the tenth most bizarre response I've seen to a post this week. And that's ignoring obvious crazy people even.So obviously they were talking about the 99% non-UK specific stuff.
