I don't particularly want to learn a new system just for the sake of a new system. It isn't about a particular attachment to d20 (although I love it) and more about a detachment from the system. I don't see the benefit in learning a new task resolutions system. I can see how some people would like exporing new systems and trying them out, but for me that's not a fun aspect of the game.
Other games spotlight different aspects of roleplaying. D&D is often about combat. WoD has much more political stuff involved. Nobilis is a more surreal world. Rifts has this cyberpunk/post-apoctalypical thing going for it.

It's not about the system per se.

Only D20, Hero System and Mekton (Interlock) are the systems I'm willing to run or play in for the most part. I'd like to run a Jovian Chronicles game and have enjoyed GURPS in the past but have never and probably will never play a World of Darkness game. EVER.

I've played almost every incarnation of D&D but will also never go back to them so much so that I donated all of my 2nd Ed D&D books to my locla library. I kept all of my basic stuff though...

Yes, absolutely. My time is very limited, so I'm quite picky.

Interesting, because I approach it from the same starting place - my gaming time is very limited - and come to quite a different result. With so few hours of gaming available, I will not let the system keep me from playing a game with good people.

There are a few games and playing styles I have no interest in, but on the whole I would say that the people I play with are more important than the game system.

These days I only play D&D. Nothing really against other systems, worlds or games I just rely on my old faithful. When I was younger with more time on my hands I tended to experiment with different systems.

I'm more like arnwyn in this regard. My gaming time is limited so I feel I am better served by sticking with one gaming system. Sort of funny how people feeling they have a limited amount of time make completely different decisions about their gaming habits!

I'm pretty much willing to play just about anything. I find that if I play any particular system too much, I get bored with it and want to play something else. I'm currently burning to play SR, but because I'm stuck in a d20 group, that doesn't seem likely to happen without me dropping them and trying to find an SR game...which I might have to at some point.

On the other hand, when I play SR-only for a long time, I start itching for fantasy again.

I like variety, I think that's what it comes down to. :)
