With my last purchase (which disappointed me), I decided that I probably have more than enough d20/D&D material (appr. 50 books) and now must stop. Of course I have yet to get the last one (d20 Past), maybe one or two modules so I don't need write my own, but I am basically done. In any case I don't use much of most of these books. Better try to plunder them again anytime I can, rather than succumb to the sirens of Internet marketing and still buy more stuff. I see that I am less and less enlivened by what I purchase. Now is time to stop and just use what I have (in any case it's more than I can use).
The problem is, that if more and more react like me, the market will probably not live for long. So, what about you?
No, I don't intend to adopt a new system. In fact I do like d20/D&D and don't want to change. It's just I will now essentiall use what I already have, as I now understand that more money spent into rpg stuff won't improve my gaming experience that much...DungeonMaster said:Does this mean you're going to opt for material from other systems, like say d6 systems?
But the problem is, there WON'T be anything so extraordinary that I NEED to get it immediately. It's what most of my last purchases told me. I have no problem with buying new stuff. It's just that I have been disappointed too much times and also noticed that I don't have the time to play all I already have (four campaign settings). So I considered it wasn't worth anymore spending money there. And in fact I will continue to buy, but DVDs instead of d20 stuff...Nisarg said:You look at what's out now, and you figure "Gadzooks, I need none of this!", but what happens when the next unbelievably cool innovative new D20 pretty young thing comes out? I'll tell you what, Pepe, you'll BUY it! You'll go running to it <...>
