Who else is having a GREAT day?

My day sucked, I have a major project in school due thursday and I dont have half the information I need for it. And I have no idea what I am doing on my Chemistry homework, and I dont think I did so well on a histroy test today. :(

My day was not great but on the drive home as I was stuck in traffic, I saw a parrot flying overhead, now this stuck me as strange as I live in SC and they are no longer found here (in the wild). It looked to be blue in color, the tail was very kite-like with long trailing feathers as long as the body, at the time it was flying toward the zoo, so I figured it escaped and played hookey all day and now was going home to roost.

It put a smile on my face.

That's the kind of small weirdness that makes my day.

My Monday... hmmm.

My wife was out of town with the two smaller kids visiting her sister in Columbus, OH. I had to get up and put the kids on the bus and then go in to work. I hadn't slept very well, so I woke up with a headache and not ready at all for the day. My daughter, however, also wasn't feeling very well, and since I was the only candidate to stay home with her, I called in sick at the office, put my son on the school bus, and then promptly went back to sleep until 11:30. :o

When I woke up, my daughter was also awake and feeling quite a bit better, so I put some movies on for her (I think she watched the Barbie Princess and the Pauper followed by Anastasia, which is her current favorite movie.) While she was doing that, I sat in bed listening to music and reading a bunch of Dungeon Magazine's that I'd borrowed from my buddy; I was needing some ideas to loot for my upcoming next session. ;)

Around 4 my 3rd grader came home from school, and after quickly knocking off his homework, they wanted to go play outside in the snow before it all melted away (not that it mattered; it's been snowing all morning to replace whatever melted), so I sat in the front room where I could see them play while I pulled out my old Playstation and Tekken 2 and learned a few more Wang and Bruce Irving moves.

Around five, my wife came back into town with her sister, my two smaller kids, and my two nephews, who are also very young. Then the house got crazy for a while, but I had to go out and pick up dinner since we didn't really have anything in the house. When the kids were in bed, it took me almost half an hour to clean up after them. My wife and her sister then went on a much needed grocery shopping trip while I read some more Dungeons and listened to some more music, along with recording The Bachelor season premiere for them. By the time they came home, it was all ready to go, so I helped unpack and put away the groceries then went to bed while the two girls watched the show I recorded and worked on some invitations my wife had "volunteered" to make for a church party.

So, I guess my day wasn't as good as yours, but hardly one to complain about either...

I decided to not respond to this yesterday hoping today would be better.... but no still not there. Not bad days just uneventful, slow moving days where leveling my pally in World of Warcraft and annoying my husband by calling him every half hour from work to ask questions or just say hi and I love you are the highlights.... wait- my boss wasn't yelling, there are no deadlines, nothing due tomorrow, three people in my office quit so I'm now elevated position wise, no major headaches, no ranting partners who can't do anything on their own, and I can in a small way appreciate all that my husband does for me... I change my mind it's been a very good two days :)

That sounds pretty good to me. What matters most is that you can look back and appreciate all the little things that added up to make it a very good two days. If you're only going to be impressed if you win the lottery then it's gonna be a long a disappointing lifetime.

I got my free haircut today and she did a great job. Since I needed to find a new regular hair stylist (or just plain barber) closer to my house then I'm chalking this up as another good thing to add to the littany.

I also find myself in a very good mood thanks to a new CD I bought a few days ago. It was one of those where you look at the list of songs and there are about 3 that you know you like but you can't vouch for the rest of the CD. Well I bought it and there ain't a bad song on it. And the majority of them are ones that I REALLY like! And the best part: It was free. I got two copies of the Eberron Campaign Setting for Christmas so I returned the more expensive of the two to Borders and used the resulting gift card to buy that CD and three books.

I've already devoured one of the books and started on a second and I'm quite pleased with my free purchases. If you're interested, what I got was:

Dragon Venom by Lawrence Watt-Evans (3rd bood in a series and I was quite satisfied by the conclusion)
The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlam (I really liked the movies and have heard nothing but good things about the books. So far I'm liking it a lot.)
Krondor: The Betrayal by Raymond Feist (I missed this series somehow but I like most of the other stuff he's written. Haven't started it yet)

And the CD was Mud on the Tires by Brad Paisley. I particularly like Make a Mistake and Farther Along and Spaghetti Western Theatre is a hoot with Little Jimmy Dickens and George Jones.
