My Monday... hmmm.
My wife was out of town with the two smaller kids visiting her sister in Columbus, OH. I had to get up and put the kids on the bus and then go in to work. I hadn't slept very well, so I woke up with a headache and not ready at all for the day. My daughter, however, also wasn't feeling very well, and since I was the only candidate to stay home with her, I called in sick at the office, put my son on the school bus, and then promptly went back to sleep until 11:30.
When I woke up, my daughter was also awake and feeling quite a bit better, so I put some movies on for her (I think she watched the Barbie
Princess and the Pauper followed by
Anastasia, which is her current favorite movie.) While she was doing that, I sat in bed listening to music and reading a bunch of Dungeon Magazine's that I'd borrowed from my buddy; I was needing some ideas to loot for my upcoming next session.
Around 4 my 3rd grader came home from school, and after quickly knocking off his homework, they wanted to go play outside in the snow before it all melted away (not that it mattered; it's been snowing all morning to replace whatever melted), so I sat in the front room where I could see them play while I pulled out my old Playstation and Tekken 2 and learned a few more Wang and Bruce Irving moves.
Around five, my wife came back into town with her sister, my two smaller kids, and my two nephews, who are also very young. Then the house got crazy for a while, but I had to go out and pick up dinner since we didn't really have anything in the house. When the kids were in bed, it took me almost half an hour to clean up after them. My wife and her sister then went on a much needed grocery shopping trip while I read some more Dungeons and listened to some more music, along with recording The Bachelor season premiere for them. By the time they came home, it was all ready to go, so I helped unpack and put away the groceries then went to bed while the two girls watched the show I recorded and worked on some invitations my wife had "volunteered" to make for a church party.
So, I guess my day wasn't as good as yours, but hardly one to complain about either...
