Who pays for your group's "Party Leader" t-shirt?

Sorry, but considering the above paragraph that implies that everyone has t-shirts for their party leaders, I thought for sure he was joking. My bad.

:o

Your group has T-shirts? I've never heard of anybody having t-shirts or other items of clothing for their group, let alone the roles each person plays on the group.

Heck, your group has a party leader?

I like the crit-miss contribution jar. Great idea. Something like 5-25 cents per bad roll?

Double if you swear.*

* Swearing prohibited by tradition in some households. Colloquialisms do not constitute swearing and usage of less-offensive, alternate forms of swear words may be punishable by teasing. The Critical Failure Jar Corporation accepts no responsibility for inadequate swearing due to a sheltered upbringing. Not applicable in all states of mind.

Since the "Party Leader" shirt is designated as group treasure and is therefore not owned by any single person, and considering that the shirt may, in fact, be worn by the selfsame players who question the need for their financial contribution towards the purchase of said shirt, I think the contrary players should not only pay their fair portion of the shirt's expense, but also pay the taxation on said shirt as punishment for their willfulness.

They should also be called "Spartacus" for an entire gaming session, as a grim reminder to curb one's revolutionary tendencies.

Eek! Now you're causing me to have flashbacks to our last "gladiator night". Man, that leather chafes me so. I guess it's not as bad as Furry night. I'm still trying to get the hair out of my dice bag.

...and I thought LARPers were crazy..

It's a generic form of LARPing. It's known as GeneRPing. The players have shirts that define their roles at the table and must exchange shirts if they switch. The strictest of groups require you exchange seats, as well, and I've heard of one group in rural Wisconsin that trade clothes completely, including thongs. The drinks only say 'Soda' or 'Beer' on the label and the snacks say 'Chips' and such. All of the character have to be named after major characters from very well-known fantasy fiction. It's not unusual to have two Gandalfs and a couple of Aragorns in the same adventuring party. A lot of the conflicts that get hashed out on this message board are unheard of in such games.

OH sweet Mercy... now I have to go and take a steel brush to my brain to get THAT image out of it.

What? So I fumble a roll, which kills my character, and you add insult to injury by jiggling that jar in my face? That's an open invitation to maim you! :]

I would not consider such a jar. Ever. Not even a bad roll swear jar. If I have bad luck with dice, it is my gods-given right to swear!

There was a one-panel comic in an old Dragon magazine:

Two PCs standing next to each other. One had "85HP" on his armor. Says to other, "Not really, but does throw off the literate monsters."

Actually, in all seriousness, I (the DM) often wear a t-shirt with "NPC" on the front and back. Or a t-shirt that says, "Dungeon Master" on the front left breast. Ordered them off of some web-site that I can't remember right now. CafePress?

When I was playing my paladin character, I wore a shirt that says, "Let the smiting begin."

One of my GMs regularly wears a shirt that says "I bring nothing to the table".

We have no t-shirts, no hats, no insignia of any kind. In fact, in our groups we typically don't have a designated party leader. Were someone to suggest wearing t-shirts I would snort derisively at him. I don't see any reason why you need t-shirts to identify who fills what role in the party. If someone wanted to buy a shirt, fine, but a group requirement for such???

[Edit] I should have read more thoroughly - Janx pretty much said it for me! :p

Nope, no sarcasm...this thread fed my funny quotient for the day (continuous low level chuckling can be heard).

I can't tell with 100% accuracy some of the more low key oddities as unreal, though I can tell the most obvious fabrications, and damn that just makes it funnier.

Nope, no shirts in my campaign required by law...and I just wear various different geek level shirts to the DM chair - they usually get worried when I have a t-shirt with dragons on it...

hee hee hee...jocularity, jocularity...you people just don't know when to stop with the mirth...
