D&D 5E who put baby in the corner?

OK, so now we have our own place to argue out the warlord thing... except it really isn't the same is it. I mean I understand the warlord threads were getting too much, but at the same time now whole discussions and thoughts are outside of the 'mainstream' view of enworld. I remember back not to long ago the same thing happened with damage on a miss. I also relize how inoften such things are brought up anymore.

By moving it to it's own subfolder will this kill the discussions of the warlord in the future? Is this a way of saying 'hey stop this it's too much', or will it turn into a way of silencing the people who care about the subject. I already feel marginalized when a thread is started about 'hey what do you want to see added' and high name high post count people say 'don't mention warlord' followed by people bad mouthing the warlord...

there is 0 reason why a thread about wanting to add something has to become a fight... the problem is we are all dug in it sparks into a fight (and a lot of that is still the most recent boarder skirmishes in the 30+ year long edition wars).

The fire is burning. It's not a bad idea to contain it.

And if you read the description, it says that this is a "temporary" forum, and that the discussions will move back when it burns down.

And if/when it sparks up again, they can re-contain it.

Yes, there is a little irony in people shouting something down. First the shouting only serves to keep it on the front page, the opposite of what they're trying to do. Then, eventually, the forum gets jammed and is forced to close problematic threads, and even exile discussion to a ghetto forum, and the issue is silenced and even stigmatized, exactly as those trying to shout it down wanted.

I have also found irony in the fact that there have been multiple posters, who have admitted to drifting towards not wanting a warlord at all, because of the endless contentious posts and heated threads by those zealously demanding one.

Although such decisions are ultimately up to Morrus, I'll cop to making the initial request. I did it not because I have anything against the idea of Warlord class or subclass (in fact i'm generally receptive to the idea), but because I was tired of seeing so many unrelated threads getting derailed over this issue.

If you see that happening you should absolutely report that to the mods. One of the reasons for walling of these types of contentious arguments is to sort out those that are merely passionate about the issue, from those that just want to be trouble makers.

if it makes you feel better if there was no Warlord forum to spark my interest I wouldn't be reading this thread

How do you think those threads get contentious and heated in the first place? Hint: it's not just the warlord advocates.

Did you just imply that I also had a hand in drawn some of the indifferent/undecided posters over to the "un-warlord" side? Well, thanks for the compliment, I guess.

Wow. I dropped by because I haven't checked in on ENW in a while. And holy crap, now there's a ghetto forum for Warlord stuff just like there was for damage on a miss?

I hate this place.
