Microsoft. They would be able to fully integrate digital tools while having a gaming division and various studios that understand games (at least on the digital front).
Out of all of the big companies, perhaps Microsoft would be the lesser evil. They have been acting very pro-consumer as of late. And they have studios to take advantage of the IP. Perhaps they would finally fix arena and put it on mobile?

Whatever happened to Battletech? In the 1990s it was hugely popular and I would have picked it over Warhammer 40k to become even more popular. But it's a shadow of what it once was.
Battletech is one of the best example of how sci-fi gets old. New generations miss current technology we can't see in the old sci-fi titles, for example the mobiles, the flat screens and the tablets. It is not only Battletech but also most of franchises within the mecha (giant robots) subgenre. Only transformers and some other are in the new wave now.

My opinion is before 6Th Ed. we will see something like a d20 Modern 2.0. because this could allow to test the reaction caused by some possible changes, for example a different list of abilities scores (to allow games with more investigations and social interactions). And this d20 Modern will arrived sooner in a (no medieval fantasy) RPG videogame.

WotC is observing what ideas by other parties can work better, for example in Pathfinder 2 class features and racial traits being replaced with optional list of class and race feats, allowing more flexibility to create but not more complicated.

If Pathfinder and D&D mergered..... what about psionic and ocultist/psicraft classes?
