Who's getting the freebies from RPGNow?

Close to 200 people have downloaded Untapped Classes: Complete Marksman so far! :) I hope folks enjoy it!

And yes, their tech support is doing a good job in handling the problems that crop up. I imagine the additional traffic is quite insane.

Well, both Runequest and Rolemaster Express that I had been trying to download were both in my shopping cart for $0.00. Now mysteriously at 10:15 am they are back to the regular retail price. Shame on you drivethru. What a scam!

Those were Tuesday's free offerings which were good until 10:00 AM today.

I figured I'd DL some of the offerings this morning from yesterday, but they weren't available anymore. Dang. No "Scouring of Gate Pass for me."

I tried to download Runequest during its free time yesterday, but the database error kept occuring. RPGNow acknolwedged the error, but were unable to give me the product because it was after 10:00 am today when they fixed it. :(

I'm still on dialup, and I really hate the fact that they are forcing the "one-click buy" on all the free items.
I found a trick that gets around this for this special offer. It will only help you with the Thursday and Friday lists, however. (Assuming you read this on Wednesday.)

Go to the Thanksgiving page. Switch the view to another day. The products will all be listed with their normal prices.

Open up each product's page. (Mozilla's "Open In New Tab" option is great. I just open them all and then do something else while they load.)

Now go through each product and add it to your cart.

Double-check that you've got everything.

Wait until tomorrow.

When you go back tomorrow, they'll all be in your cart at $0. Checkout. You have to give some payment option, but I just used PayPal and it never goes to a PayPal page because the amount is free.

Now you have a list of all of the items as a single purchase in your account. You can download them one at a time at your leisure. (Up to five times.)

One odd thing I encountered was that if I clicked on Buy Now for some items that was currently free, it emptied half the things out of my cart. I'm assuming this was a database error. So, I just grabbed any other free things I wanted before loading my cart with tomorrow's list.

On a hunch, I just checked my Account page for some items from before this Thanksgiving sale that were free. They're listed as an order with four more downloads. You might try for today's stuff of clicking on one, getting to the download page so you know the order is processed, and then canceling the download. Go check your Account page and see if it's there with 4-5 downloads. If so, you can just "buy" everything right away and then download at your leisure over a period of days.
