Who's running or playing in an Arcana Unearthed Game?

AU campaigning

I have just started my AU campaign and have run just one session. It's a home-brew campaign and I've stolen from all sorts of classics including Diamond Throne in setting it up.

So far, so good. I'm hoping I can get a different feel to the game than what I'd call a standard DnD game. I have a couple of WW fans who are always on about depth of role-playing and character-driven, political, intrigue types of game. I don't see why you can't achieve that in d20.

I'm going to be mainly using an urban setting though I expect they'll choose to wander.

They're on their way to a much altered Freeport (GR).

I may post a Story Hour if I can find enough time.

I don't go in for munchkin but my campaigns are usually a little on the higher-powered side. For instance, my last two campaigns were point buy (something like 36-40 points). I like the characters to be heroic. This usually doesn't work out (based on how they decide to play) but I try :)
Actually, I'm quite fond of the "widescreen action" tag. After years of roleplay-heavy, introspective campaigns, I've decided to take the opposite road, with a heroic, over-the-top campaign in which the bar is raised over and over again, and the stakes keep getting higher and higher. It's like a fantasy version of the "Authority" comic book. But of course, technically, we're right in the middle of munchkin-land...

I found out that much more than the Epic Handbook, Arcana Unearthed helps me bring a different, more exotic flavor to my high-level game. Rather than raw power or impossible odds, such a campaign needs to make the players feel that their characters are really unique, and confronted with equally unique challenges. Having an Akashic in the group helps us cement that impression, in a way no high-level Rogue would ever be able to. When the PCs meet monsters trained as Warmains or Witches, they know that something unusual is going on.

I'm running a weekly game with AU rules for a few friends. They're serious anime fanatics, so I made a ridiculous homebrewed world with furries. They seem to like it, which is nice. We have a cat morph wood witch 2, a wolf morph mageblade 2, a human rogue 2, and a wolf morph wolf totem warrior 2. The rogue's doing just fine.

Running a game set in the DT, switching with our regular FR game.
The PCs are a human runethane, a litorian unfettered (battle claws), and a loresong faen magister. Our human wind witch moved away, and we might get a new player, if I don't move, as well.

Playing in Varianor's online mojh megapalooza. I'm playing a mojh akjashic who lost its memories and doesn't know who it was before. I'm the worst player between a great DM and three equally cool players - but that was to be expected :)

Starting a game this weekend (hopefully) and using the 2 adventures Monte gave as freebies to start it off. Then probably down into the south.

We're playing a homebrewed world - slightly spanish flavoured sillyness... Using AU rules, a few custom addins and a rough and ready 3.5 conversion. So far it's working out well. Party is large. Have:

Litorian Warmain, Litorian Totem warrior, Verrik Unfettered, Sibbecai Magister, Human Magister, Human Unfettered, Human Akashik.

Probably reach 2nd level next week.

I'm really like the system so far!

Yep, my group plays AU every other Wednesday night in the Diamond Throne setting. Our Story Hour (Nothing Personal) is found here.

The group has changed quite a bit over the past six months, from a cut-throat, what's-in-it-for-me band of swords-for-hire to a party that's following its own agenda because their enemies are getting too personal.

Though the Story Hour does not explicitly say this, the group currently consists of the following:
Caisibec, sibeccai magister 9
Chron, litorian 3/Bear warrior 6
Failon, human runechild akashic 3/runethane 5
Kragar, sibeccai 1/Wolf warrior 8
Ulysses, human magister 9

I absolutely love this game, and wished I had more time to play it.

We just started one this past weekend as an alternate campaign. Only one session so far, but everyone is really enjoying the new classes and options. (Though the Magister is bemoaning his low-level uselessness... no magic missile!)

I'm also creating a homebrew world for a later campaign that will use the AU classes.
