D&D General Whose idea was it to combine Tiamat with the Dragon of Revelation?

When did D&D ever equate Tiamat with the dragon from Revelations? I don’t ever remember that being a thing. I can see it, it’s a natural logical jump, but I don’t ever remember it being a D&D thing.

I think the tendency to identify various ancient world deities with imagery in the book of Revelation goes back long before D&D, and indeed may have been authorial intent.

I think he is referring to the multi-headed depiction of Tiamat in D&D.

Images of the Beast from Revelation quite likely inspired the image of the multiheaded queen of evil dragons in D&D, but it was never explicit, and how that monster acquired the name Tiamat is complicated.

I thought Tiamat in D&D came rather directly from the Tiamat in Babylonian myth. Some of the older myths have been told down the ages and ended up in the Bible so things may have been somewhat mistaken after awhile.

I would say that D&D tends to play down Christian influences. Unlike Diablo.
