Why are d20 Mecha so slow?

I'll second the reccomendation of GOO's Mecha D20 rules. They are far superior to the rules in D20 Future/ Mecha Crusade. They're formula based and quite modular. If you can't build the mech design you want without a minimum of fuss I'd be very suprised.

Maybe it's time to pimp d20 Mecha and GoO's new Anime Player's Handbook.

The rules in there has more realistic mecha speeds.

d20 Mecha would be the one to get at this current time. the "revised" version of BESM d20 is problematic, or at least the current print version is. Revisions that were supposed to be in there (both in terms of errata corrections and 3.5 upgrades) aren't. The version that's currently up at DTRPG (and let's not start those arguments here since they don't pertain to this thread) is updated and corrected, but not the print version.

OH!

I thought this thread (as titled) is about d20 Mecha, not Mecha Crusade.

Of course, I'd rather use d20 Mecha Handbook for the vehicle creation rules, but not for the character classes presented within, although it would provide some inspiration.

If anything, I'd go with Poly's Mecha Crusade mini-game rules for character creation.

BTW, d20 Future's Mecha Crusade game information is very abbreviated.
