Why do d20 haters hang out here?

I tend to lurk a lot more than I post and I notice that sometimes we get a few d20 hate threads going on. What surprises me is that these threads are started by people who have a high post count (I'm thinking of one in particular with a high post count) so it can't always be attributed to trolls. The Iron Kingdoms boards are full of people who love the setting but hate d20, but I assume they're there to discuss the setting. I understand that d20 isn't everybodies favourite system and that's cool. But really why do the d20 haters hang out and post here? I strongly dislike the palladium system and I wouldn't be caught dead on their forums. I know that there are not a lot of haters (like there is on RPG.net) at Enworld, just wondering why.

*Note* I'm not saying that you must like d20 to post here so all d20 haters take a hike. I'm just curious as to why you stay?

BTW merry christmas/happy holidays

Have you ever noticed that the people who rag on Star Trek the most are usually its biggest fans? They complain because they care so much about it. They want it to be perfect. It could be the same thing here.

I don't hate it and almost never get involved in flaming it. I am here to read product reviews and see what ideas people create so I can convert them to vsM or Alternity. I simply think of d20 like GURPS- I don't like the rules but do like the supplements.

There is nothing worse (as a poster) than create a thread and have nobody, or very few people respond to it. But when hating thread you are always assured of several pages of posts... :D ;)

(And nothing like a good flaming argument when you are bored...)

d20 is not my favorite system, and I usually (there are exceptions) don't enjoy running it - but I really like playing it (from time to time), I love some of the settings, and I really enjoy these boards here... Ok?

Three reasons:

1) There are a lot of good ideas here regardless of what you play.

2) Some people's dislike of d20 developed over time, so maybe those first 1000 posts were during the "honeymoon" phase.

3) Some people find no greater pleasure than talking snap and being negative all the time. ;)

Some peoples love of D&D is greater than their hate of D20. (After all if you've been playing for 31 years, that earns you some props at least from me).

MM, who abandoned D&D at 1e and only came back with 3e.

personally favourite editions are:
OD&D(igalo)
3e
B/X/RC
1e

Was there really a 2e? :)
