D&D General why do we have halflings and gnomes?

There are no orcs living in the Ten Towns at the time of RotFM, and it is implied that half orcs face prejudice.
I wouldn't know as I don't buy campaign paths. I've purchased the new Undermountain only because it's my favorite dungeon of all time. I MIGHT buy the one that has a bunch of smaller ones in it, but likely not even that one. It will depend on what's in it and how much I like what the other people came up with.

You re-read that for a while and see if you still think I was saying that they use carts and wagons. If you still do, we're done in this discussion. I'm not going to continue on with someone who is that out of touch.
you can't have it both ways where they use them when your position falls apart into a mess of unbelievability but don't when it causes the other position you are simultaneously taking to fall apart. That's the problem with the overuse of plot armor.

So suddenly mules can't be used to carry grain and trade goods? I'm sure this critter will be relieved.

These arguments are just so ludicrous. Carrying loads is what mules have always done and still do to this day.

P.S. Instead of "ignore poster" I need "ignore thread". But saying mules can't be used to carry goods to market ... it's just dumb.
Especially the small amounts that a Halfling village will engage in. It's a village for God's sake, not a town or city, and most Halflings don't care about wealth. Those few that do are probably also adventurers, since they buck the normal Halfling way, and made their wealth that way.

We're done. If you want to apologize for the continued and constant misstatement of my words and positions, and then stop doing it, we can continue on later.

The point of using a mule rather than a wagon is wagons need roads, mules don't.
Yep. That's why he was so focused on trying to force me into having said that they use wagons. When someone is more interested in winning the internet than having a discussion, their arguments often become ridiculous and/or involve deliberately misstating the positions of others.

Only so much. The size of crop yields were covered earlier when this absurdity of halflings acting like refugees fleeing ethic cleansing started

Even if you assume no magic is involved to improve yields & cut those yields dramatically to reflect less advanced farming techniques than even middle age farming yields you still reach a level that makes the idea of not using some form of cart or wagon simply unbelievable. Also that donkey is on a road, fancy that. Those tend to form when someone traverses the same path repeatedly with a donkey or similar.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make. There are many areas in the world where farmers to this day take their grain to market using donkeys, just like they always have.

If you ever have an explanation of how towns in dangerous areas without walls as indicated in the maps of Ten Towns can survive but halfling villages could not let me know. Until then, have a fun with your provably inaccurate "only wagons can carry goods" hypothesis.

indeed, however those farmers tend to not be so far away that they spend days hiking through wild uncleared forests so dense that even a skilled tracker like a ranger would have trouble finding the roads/paths leading to their farm or village of farmers. Max is simultaneously trying to dismiss two different problems raised by two different posters using the same increasingly unbelievable scebario to defend the plot armor supported phb halfling "culture" & just keeps claiming he didn't explicitly say something each time he moves to a more extreme (like we still don't know if he admits using carts or wagons to get goods to market is reasonable). In attempting to dismiss each individual problem he creates an unbelievable scenario that opens severe problems for the other.

That requires a whole lot of assumptions. Days hiking through wilderness forest, culture is the same as a blessing from the gods, that I care.

Hasta la bye bye.
