D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

Books can go look it up if you feel the need.

Newer books were selling around half the older books in peak first 6 week sales. Not lifetime sales as you expect older material to have more sales.

We don't have good data for sales any more and even if we did it doesn't account for the growth of DndBeyond and people (like me) who no longer purchase a physical copy for most of their books.

It seems obvious to me.

Remember that the flood of creative settings from TSR back in the day were part of a business model that failed. Having the flagship company produce and solidly support multiple setting lines didn't work. So, WotC isn't going to repeat that pattern.

But they still hold the IPs. So, a few lightweight, one-off products to get folks started in something they might like is fine. But they aren't committing to significant long-term support of any of them.
That has absolutely nothing to do with repackaging old adventure modules.

This topic feels like MislchaelSomething posting his Manifesto detailing his open rise to overthrow Moruss for absolute control over EnWorld.

And the final Season 1 plot twist is that he bribes the dog with treats in order to sneak in the back door. And Umbran is revealed NOT to be the real one, but an embittered ex evil twin of the real Umbran.

That sales data also backs up a lot of what WotC has claimed.
WotC, in the Hasbro financial statements and press releases has not confirmed the position you take from Bookscan data.

They have shown, to investors, that D&D sales continue to grow. They've also shown that Direct-to-Consumer is now 60% of their D&D game revenue (which puts to bed this concept that Bookscan matters at all).

Oh man this was one of my favorite seasons of 24

Just saw a video that was pointing out the beholder in this image, absolutely A+ design, look at that lil' guy. He's so happy for them.

From the Undisputed Truth. :);)

Smiling faces sometimes
Pretend to be your friend
Smiling faces show no traces
Of the evil that lurks within (can you dig it?)
Smiling faces, smiling faces, sometimes
They don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces tell lies and I got proof
