Long story short, according to Mercedes McNab at a convention, none of the cast has heard anything about a movie, and no negotiations are taking place at this time.

Meaning, the WB flat out lied to it's audience. Boo WB, boo.

Well, it's not like the negotiations would have to happen before this season is over. I think this is really jumping the gun. Wait till the fall, then if nothing has changed people can start complaining.

Well, I think the point is thus:

a) All the actors are free to do as they please after their contract is up, and the longer it goes without being made, the harder it is to keep them all together.

b) The cast hasn't even heard of this, according to the article.

c) Even if contracts were signed tomorrow, a September release would be nigh impossible.

If the cast doesn't know about it yet, let alone negotiations have started yet... well, it's bleak to say the least. I think if it's unresolved by the fall then in all likelihood there will be no movie.

Did anyone else catch the actor who plays Spike on "On Air"? He said he was looking for work, but that he is pretty much Typecast as a Junkie, or a Vampire, so he was on the show getting a makeover (ie, shaving his head), with his hair being sold for 25,000 or so to be donated to some kind of charity. Pretty weird stuff, he didn't mention anything about an Angel movie when he said he was looking for work, but he did comment on their being a possibility of a Spike spinoff finally giving him his own show instead of just crashing on the other 2 shows.

Well, I still think that this is way to soon to hear about this. Joss is probably woirking more on the Serenity movie, and a script would need to be written. plus we have a report that says one of the lesser cast members knows what the other cast members know.

or a rock star. I think he was kinda joking and being sacastic about WB canceling Angel. He has come appearances scheduled and he'll probably play gigs w/ his band, but otherwise he's free. I mean, he bowed out of that Venetian Heat movie because of scheduling. I really hope he gets into movies.
