Dragon is the players best friend and Dungeon is often my co-pilot as I DM. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Both are fruit (DnD) but otherwise very different.

Lately I have been enjoying Dungeon more.

Both.

I was going to cancel my subscription to Dragon, but when Mr. Mona took over the magazine, I renewed it and also got a Dungeon subscription. I like them both, even if I might not use anything straight from it and the magazine has long since lost any pretense of officiality in my eyes.

Dungeon gives me at the most great adventures and at the least, great maps.

Dragon? More feats (which I don't use), More PrC's (which I don't use), more race/class options (which they've done a number of times).

Dungeon wins - and it's not close.

I had to vote for a tie.

If you had asked me two years ago, I'd have said Dragon. If you had asked me six months ago, I'd have said Dungeon. Now...I just can't decide.

The fact is, thanks to Erik Mona and company, the magazines have both taken a very large turn for the better recently. Dragon is going to be doing an annual Campaign Classics issue starting next year, and it has gems like "Demonomicon of Iggwilv" that keep me coming back for more. Dungeon has its killer Adventure Path modules, and has works of art like Maure Castle, which are invaluable.

Simply put, I must have them both!

Sadly, I don't really read either any more. The beginning of the end was when WotC/Paizo summarily canceled my subscription in the takeover, but I think the final nail in the coffin was the awfull new style Ecology pieces. They took one of my favourite regular features and made it as dull as dishwater. Well, that combined with the hassle of having to get it from a shop, with sod's law meaning I always missed the ones I was really interested in.

glass.
