On a related note, I suspect the only reason off-hand has conflicting text in the glossary is because they just copied and pasted the 3.0 entries into th 3.5 PHB. There are other examples of erroneously copy/pasting 3.0 material that's come up before. Just my hunch.

• Universal Solvent requires a 20th level caster in 3.5, because in 3.0 it did something different and more powerful.
• Potions of Enlarge Person cost 250 gp per shot instead of the usual 50 gp. This is because in 3.0, the spell Enlarge Person had to be cast at CL 5 to reap the same benefit as a a first level Enlarge Person in 3.5, causing the price to be five times higher.
• Jozan, cleric of the BURNING HATE, casts Symbol of Pain, which is an [Evil] spell in 3.5 and not something Pelor should grant if he is infact a Neutral Good god.
