Eh, put them on DVD and I'll probably buy them. I don't own the original trilogy.

It might be worth it just to have Solo shoot first :P

Well, I guess it's better letting Lucas add bits to the SW originals than to make new movies.

The tweaks mentioned there seems very minor.

What does this mean? "The original Star Wars movie will restore the moment when Han Solo (Harrison Ford) shoots Greedo first." Does the scene need restoring (more than anything else in the movie)?

Ignore that. There's a reason why I didn't post this up on the main Sci-fi new page, because it was proved wrong one report later...TheForce.net also reported LOTS of other possible changes...and most of them are just plain absurd...here's the link to the SECOND article.

"The rumors of Lucas’ plans to change the original trilogy again after the release of Episode III are false."

It's okay, I wouldn't worry too much. There is rampant speculation going on right now. Anyone see this article @ AICN? Many of the changes I really like. And considering the tech that is available Lucas will probably pull it off flawlessly.

Before anyone starts ranting and raving, I do want the originals on DVD but I would like to see a "complete" version of all 6 movies as well with improvements to the original films as well. This is unprecidented in film history and I watch the developments with anticipation.

Side Note: Damn, the Clone Wars shorts have gotten me all excited about Star Wars again. Dangit! They needed to wait for the LotR/RotK buzz to wear off first before doing that. My heart can only take so much.... ;)

Lucas said it wasn't true :)

He also said Greedo was always supposed to have shot first, but it was an editing mistake in the original release

Can't anyone EVER just fess up to making a stupid decision?

I'd have regained some respect for the man if he had said "yes, having Greedo shoot first was a bad move on our part." But no, it was correcting an editing mistake. Right.

It's alright, Aaron, just remember back to the psych classes where they stage an suprise incident and then ask everyone individually what they saw to show how faulty human recollection is (e.g. some see a blonde guy, some a redhead, some see a short guy, some tall, etc.). Han shot first, Lucas is just a poor witness :)

Is that a joke website? I can't imagine this being anything other than a joke: "The bad acting in Episode II was 'done on purpose' and is 'part of the style'."

So, he was going for "crap" on purpose then?

Apparently the scene in Empire when Han enters the room and first sees Vader and shoots at him is also an editing mistake. It seems Vader had a gun and shot at Han first, forcing him to return fire. That part just got cut out. :)
