D&D 3E/3.5 Will you still play 3.5?

I'm going to make the switch this Summer to 4E, but I'm not throwing out any of my 3.5 books. I just started in a new 3.5 campaign, and realized that I still enjoy it tremendously, despite its warts and such. The power-gamer in me still loves all the mathematical optimization in character generation (especially when we play gestalt), and I'm afraid I won't be able to indulge that aspect of my play in 4E. Paradoxically, one of the reasons I want to switch to 4E is to get rid of this very thing. So, I'm keeping my 3.5 books for when I'm in the mood for a monty-haul campaign.

For those making the switch: are you going to keep your 3.5 books? How often do you see yourself pulling them back out?

We tossed out 3.5 in it's entirety in November 07. We've been playing an ad hoc version of 4th edition adapted from the Star Wars system since last year, so the change won't be all that intrusive.

I plan to keep the DMG, as I love hanging onto the old DMGs for resource material.

Probably. I have a few APs in my library that I want to run. So I'll probably run 3.5 adventures for my group. I'll probably use 4e for my solo campaign with my wife.

It isn't likely I'll be running any more 3.5 games, but I'll still probably be playing in some. I still have my books from previous editions, so I'm probably not going to get rid of my 3.5 books.

We're still playing 3.5 and haven't had any discussions on the matter that resulted in a final consensus in support of switching to 4E. About the best we've come up with so far is to see if we can adapt some parts of 4E that we like to 3E, or maybe to switch and use a different system for a while.

Still have a bit more life of 3.5. I still have 2 AP's (most likely 3 with the nonexistent GSL), and plans in Ptolus and Iron Kingdoms. So while my group is looking at 4e and trying the initial modules, we ill still be playing 3.5 for at least a little bit longer(we are also seeing the ease for new dms). I also dont see getting rid of many 3.5 books since I tend to focus on the more fluff books anyway. Heck the world guide for Iron Kingdoms has I think 3 rules in it.

I will continue to play 3.5E (having just reached 4th level with my gnome ranger in Shackled City), and probably Arcana Evolved as well, but hopefully I will find some takers in my current gaming circle and run at least a few 4E games when it comes out in June.

Even if 4e is AWESOME! I'll still be playing some 3.5. Lots of adventures and stuff like Rise of the Runelords and Red Hand of Doom that I still want to run.
