D&D 3.x Will you still play 3.5?

My current group (of nine players!) is smack in the middle of the Freeport series, so we'll be playing 3.5e for a long while yet. At least one of us is a playtester for 4e though, so there's plenty of interest in seeing what all the secrecy and hype is about, but I doubt it'll be until we either finish Freeport or take some sort of hiatus.

Personally, I don't feel a massive amount of urgency to switch right away. D&D will be there when we're ready to play 4e. Besides, then all the other classes will likely be out, and the char opt crowd will have dissected the game for us. :)

I'll play 3.x if one of the guys would want to run it, I guess. However, from what I've seen, I'm likely going to love 4e. I see it in many ways like (GASP!) videogame consoles. I loved my old Nintendo, but the Wii is about a million times better (my thumbs don't hurt so much after playing, either). Same with the xbox & 360. Occasionally, I'll pull out an older game and play, but better graphics and more power wins out most of the time.

Same goes for 4e, if the rules are as tight as they're appearing to be, I don't really want to go back and play an older edition if this fixes problems I had.

I played a game of 2e after about a year and a half of 3e. I kept wanting to houserule in everything from 3e to make the game play the way I wanted. As such, I'll probably never get around to another game of 3.x.

Only if I have no choice.

I thought when 3E came I would play some 2E just for nastalgia because I had so many things for it and the options were so wide open for spell casters in it. I never touched it after hitting 3E.

So I gave away all my 2E, 3E, and 3.5 materials to my friends. I have only my mini's, dice, and battlemats. I am desperately waiting on some new life to breathed back into my old favorite.

I'm done with 3.5. I'm forcing myself to play bi-weekly currently just because my wife is running the game and she'd be sad if I didn't play. After we switch though, I'm selling my (extensive) 3.5 library for whatever I can get for it.

4E will be my game of choice, or I'll just get out of roleplaying altogether if it doesn't work out.

I will be keeping Liber Mortis, Heroes of Horror, Dungeonscape and all the FR and Eberron stuff (at least until they are completely replaced for 4e). Other than that, I am busily selling off all of the 3e books we're not using.

After playtesting 4e last weekend, my group doesn't really want to play 3e anymore. We will, because we have a few more campaigns to bring to a conclusion and we don't want to skip D&D until June.

After all of our current 3e campaigns are done, I plan to sell all of my 3e books, with the exception of those listed above and the PHB, MM, DMG and XPB.

I will keep all of the published scenarios. I always do.

There are hundreds of RPGs out there to suit every taste. Don't be so hasty!
