Winnipeg Gameday Session Sign-up Thread - GAMEDAY REACTIONS? COME SHARE!

Well its the week of and there's been no new updates since my last posting 6 days ago, is it still on or in the realm of postponed until the number of confirmed attendants and DM types are available?

I was actually just going to update today, since nothing happened until ~4 today. In any case, my apollogies for not getting back into this thread sooner; I've been going to school and working full time for the last two weeks, and my participation on EN World has been very spotty as of late. Anyway, I met with Scott today at GKG we went over quite a few small details, and all the updates which Idzy mentioned are mainly becasue we were talking about everything.

There are going to be quite a few demos to check out now; one of Scott workers Chris is running both a Conan TCG demo and a WoW CCG demo, plus Idzy doing a Three Dragon Ante demo, plus all of the other demos, games and stuff going on.

The main problem has been cross-board communication, looking back. I should have posting on Maximinis more, as Scott should have been over here on EN World more. Not much we can do now about this, but I guess we should just keep continuing organizing this, and finishing up on the small details.

In all honestly, I would like to apologise to everyone here, because I haven't been able to organise this to my satisfaction, and my leadership has been a bit lapsed through this whole process. Sorry.

But, let's get everyone who we can signed up to a game, and get this whole thing ready to roll come next Sunday. Blackfire, the lack of D&D games to sign up for is mainly due to not many DMs coming forward to offer a game. However, Maximinis has all of those other games to play in, so there's plenty to choose from, with many open spots.

I am thinking of DMing a game now, since there's such a lack of DMs. Something simple, and on the fly, mainly. Five availiable spots. Sign up now!

Nyaricus, I wouldn't worry about your organizational skills; you've done a heck of a job allready and this kind of thing can be tough to setup. I haven't been very active in signing up for stuff as my work schedule (and life in general) is very chaotic right now; I haven't wanted to commit to too much as I didn't know how available I was. Even now I'm still waiting to see how much my wife needs me to watch the kid that weekend (she's in school) so I can't sign up for too much. I'd love to play in some of those demos but I just don't think I'll have time. But definately sign me up for the D&D game you are running. What time are you looking at? When I heard Devilbat had to drop out of DMing was was thinking of offering but I'm so rusty I'm afraid I would make a pig's breakfast out of it. I'm grateful for your offer man. But like I said, count me in for your game.

Thanks Darth Shoju, I really appreciate the kind words - just the sort of thing I needed to hear about right now! In any case, I'll be running in the first slot, methinks. I want to get in on Mark's (a gamer from my group) Heavy Gear demo (to be finalised; he's not sure if he can run it yet), and I am running 3DA in the 3rd slot, so there's my day

I think I'm going to have pull out. I was all geared up to sign up for the 1st 2 slots of D&D and end the evening with the Mini's but my schedule got rearranged. I have to see my dad off to the airport aroun 9am and then have to go into work around 5 so I'd be relly pushing it to make the first game and don't want to have to scramble out after the 2nd or be hurried to have it wrapped up or at least my part in it. I'm the time that likes to keep things lingering as long as possible. Sadly I think I'd be too rushed to fully enjoy things but will try my hardest to come by for the morning slot if possible to at least meet some new gamers and check out a demo if there's room. My apologies, but here hoping that another event will come around before long that won't coincide with my dad flying in from out of town.

Too bad to hear about that. My hope is that if this is a bi-annual event, we'll have one in roughly half a year (or the last Sunday of May, if my math is right). If not, then I (and the others, I'm assured of) can't wait to see you next next November!

Cross posting with maxminies since its so close to the event.
I probably won't play much beside s trying Three Dragon Ante if scheduling works out.

So, I'm looking to play in a few games here and run one or two myself.
Dogs in the Vineyard (Roleplaying God's Watchdogs in an old west that never quite was.) or Rune (Fun Viking mayhem.) as they are both fun and simple to play.
It looks like there is a table open in each slot that I could fill if there are people interested.

Sorry for the slow reply. I have been negotiating with my wife about Sunday since this is a busy weekend for us.

It seems I can now only make it for Block 2 (2-5). I can probably stay for the pizza dinner as well.

As for signing up, I had mentioned before about running a Burning Empires game (I will make another post to determine interest). Barring that, I'll probably hedge into a D&D game if there's space or one of TJ's proposed games.

Burning Empires demo - interest?

I had originally suggested running a Burning Empires demo. Assuming there is still an available table during Block 2, is anyone still interested? (Devilbat was the only one who previously mentioned wanting to play this, and he can't make it anymore.)

The demo scenario is called "Fires Over Omac". Please heed the following:
- if it happens it'll be during Block 2, 2-5pm
- it's meant for 2-4 players plus GM
- it's designed for 4 hours so we might not get through it all
- Burning Empires is a pretty new game and I've only played 2 real sessions of it so far, so I'm not the most experienced GM. But it is an awesome game!
- there's a lot of stuff about Burning Empires that you won't see in a demo - it has a lot of campaign-level mechanics, collaborative world creation, etc. that there just isn't time for. However, I will be able to give an overview of this stuff and answer questions.
