Hey that's cool of you Mark. Thanks! (not that I am running anything, but it is nice of you to do)

Thanks Everyone!

Hey all! Thanks for coming out and enjoying the first EN World Winnipeg Gameday! I had a ton of fun with the guys and gals and associates of Maximinis and I can't wait to have another gameday and get more people out to it! I had a ton of fun loosing at Three Dragon Ante all day long, and while my slot 2 D&D game fizzled with all the Dreamblade demos going on, I still had a great time meeting with Darth Shoju and teaching him Three Dragon Ante.

Next time, we need a bigger ENW presence though! :D:cool:

Thanks Mark! I really appreciate that from you - incrediably gracious of you.

For myself, I spent slot 2 with Darth Shoju teaching him Three Dragon Ante and talking about houserules and True20 - great conversation BTW :D. Then, I spent slot 3 teaching Davek and another fellow Three Dragon Ante (and The Beer Baron and a girl names Paula were playing as well). I'll send that email momentarily :)

cheers,

Yeah it was quite fun. Game Knight was a great location and The Beer Baron really did a good job as host. Hopefully for the next Game Day I'll be able to stay for more than one slot...

It was fun hanging out with Nyaricus and learning Three Dragon Ante; that game is much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. I think I'll try to get my wife and gaming buddies into it. Nyaricus-I really enjoyed our chat and I think we have to game together soon man. It sounds like you run a really cool game! Also, thanks for all your work getting this set up. You did a great job on it.

Good times!

Thanks! Yeah, it was a good time - perhaps we should try to play something with True20 along the lines of what you and I were talking about, or something completely different! Who knows; with so many games and worlds and systems to choose from there are plenty of options we could work with here :)

cheers,

Thanks very much to the Beer Baron/Chris, Nyaricus/Ryan and everyone else involved in setting this up. I had an absolute blast running my Burning Empires game. Kudos to the other four players for their inspired play - even as GM I felt like I was just along for the ride. Probably one of the most enjoyable (and intense) sessions of RPGing I've played in, pretty cool considering I'd never met any of them before. (Jon, one of the players, wrote up an actual play post here if anyone's interested in what the hell we were doing.)

In short, an awesome time and I only wish I could've stayed longer to play in some of the other games and meet more people.

Cheers and thanks again to all involved.
Mike

Hi folks. Glad to hear it went well!
Apologies for not being able to get out for the day. Work has been... interesting.
If anything else comes up in the next while I'd love to see it and see these ENWorlders in person. Or if they have two heads.

sorry again

Greetings,

Nyaricus, thanks for organizing this and getting the ball rolling. I had a good time. Hopefully we will be able to make this a regular occurance.

Artellan, thanks for running the Burning Empires game. It waas interesting. That is a style of game that I am unfamiliar with, and honestly, I don't think it would fly with my regular group. I did enjoy myself, once I figured out the basic gist of the system. Thanks again for your effort. The story was good, and the play kept me focused.

Thanks very much for the feedback Dave. It was great to have you on board, and especially fun to get the chance to demo a different style of game for you.

When you say "I don't think it would fly with my regular group", what in particular do you think they wouldn't like? I'm asking because sometimes I think my D&D group (DMed by devilbat actually) would love games like Burning Empires if they got a chance to try them; but other times I'm not so sure. It really can be quite a different experience from more traditional games.

I guess the key thing is not to sell it as something other than it is; start off saying "here are some of the things that might be different than what you're used to - let's try it and see if you like it or not".

Cheers
-Mike
