Alrighty so now for the fun parts. WE need a theme. So lets hear them folks! So far the suggestions are

Also we need suggestions on contest, if any, and suggestions on a finally date to have this all together by! And on that note, who wants to do Room Dessy, Who wants to make up the menu for the food/drinks, and who would like to run/write up any contest! And Judges for said contest would be our lovely Magi, if they don't mind that is!







Now onto my Personal suggestions. Date, end of Januarary, perferable on like a Saterday night? Contest, Well Best dressed and maybe Ice Skating? My ideas, lets hear yours !

We had ice skating last year.
Of course, nothing says we can't do it again.

I have a very good idea for a dessy on the Time Stands Still theme. So, I'd be willing to do that.

Let's see... a dancing contest? I don't know how that would be judged, though.

If we do have ice skating, though, that'd change my dessy idea. I could work with it, though.

Do we want to compile dessies from everyone willing to do them?

Saturday nights are bad for me, but, I'm willing to help set everything up even if I can't be there.

So, tomorrow starts January (and, for some time zones, it might already be. . .) and we were tossing around the idea of doing this some time in January, towards the end.
I just want to keep this discussion up so it's not forgotten.

Here's what we should be thinking about as far as organizing this (if we still want to do it):
Some contests, and how to judge them. And what prizes to give.
A date and time. Let's not forget the time zones - the world clock is helpful for keeping different times in mind. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
Atheme - so far "Time Stands Still" is the only one suggested. Objections? Other ideas?
A description (do we want to do a contest for the description?)

I don't remember if room descriptions have been in place for reading as each person enters, the way they are for the permanent rooms. Or are they just posted at random times? How difficult is each way?

I agree, we need to get the ball rolling on this if we want to have a dance in January. In the past I believe both a set room descrip and random postings have been used. I don't think it's too hard to have a set descrip that will display as you enter the room, but I believe it's something we'll have to bribe gabe to set up for us. Room descrips are also available any time byt typing /topic.

What about a poetry contest?

I think with a poetry contest it would have to be done on the boards, with the winner being announced at the dance and the winning poem read. Doing a contest like that would take too much time in character to have everyone read their poems during the dance. This way also, we have them all up and easy to read. We could set the start date a week before the dance to give people time to post entries, and give the judges time to consider each poem fairly.

Poetry contest are great and I would say we get three volunteers as judges...Baring in mind that if your a judge your characters can not enter! And let people do it however they want sincenot everyone can do one for of poetery or the other.

Room dessy....mmm.....We can sweet talk Gabe! Specially if one of our talents writes it? Maybe get two or three people to write them up and vote?


Also date and time. let's get a list of what people want and we can go from there on it?
