Wizard items

I recent got a cohort but they have no gear, I have about 15-16k of gold, and i have to buy them just about everything though i did get a spell book as a reward for a quest.

What items would you suggest, its and elven wizard and she has PBS and PS so i'll be getting her at least a +1 bow

What level is the cohort? You should probably start with a few utility items to keep her alive and useful, like a Cloak of Resistance, maybe a Pearl of Power or two so she has a little more versatility, etc.

Or just buy her a Boccob's Blessed Book and let her stay at home learning and scribing spells until she has a good selection and you've got some more money to throw her way.

ahh yes sorry i forgot the level. She's 8, can't remember the exact levels but its wiz something EK 1, so possible fighter 1 as well. so caster level 6 or 7 at best. I can't remember if EK had a BA requirment or martial weapons requirement.

She does have a feat where if she has a wind discription spell she gets bonuses of some kind to her archery, but I don't know many wind spells, so any advice as to a decent wind spell would also be useful.

As for leaving her home, well we're current involved in a war and our home city was almost under siege so i think traveling with us might actually be safer then staying at home. We're in Ulek which I'm told is not exactly friendly for arcane casters, not really sure on that point, though.

I think you're referring to a reserve feat from Complete Mage that allows you to affect archery if you have memorized air spells.
