Wizard of the Coast Updated Product Listing!

www.candlekeep.com has something called The Grand History of the Forgotten Realms which is a free download with a timeline of the realms. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing with added commentary and content. The free pdf is written by Brian R. James and takes up 105 pages. It is NOT a detailed history just a consolidated timeline from all the books he could find and additinal notes from novels and such. Well worth the download.
That PDF is excellent. It's also way too condensed to present anything other than an outline of an actual book.

I wonder if the book will at least attempt to have an index of sorts, or be color-coded. It's a must in a non-electronic history book.

Hj,

Email me. I'll post the details.

This list isn't comprehensive, just probably what's already been done or at least finished by the time this month started. I'm sure more updates will follow.

Anauroch: The Sundering of the World is not a regional book, it's an adventure. From the first outline it's been an adventure. Now, like Cormyr and Shadowdale, it is an adventure set primarily (but not exclusively) in a single region, but it's not a combined sourcebook for that region. Sure there will be regional information; I3-5 had to tell you about the Desert of Desolation so you could adventure through it and Q1 talked a lot about the 66th layer of the Abyss, but they were adventures that took place in a specific region, not regions that had adventures set in them. And, of course, Anauroch is merely the final chapter in a trilogy of FR adventures, so it wasn't anything done on the fly trying to figure out if it would be an adventure or a regional book.

Hope that's some help.

P.S. I don't know where the title Anauroch: Empire of Shade came from. Perhaps that was a working title in some pre-outline phase of production that just managed to inadvertantly stick around.

According to the description, half of it is an adventure module, the other half seems to be regional info.

Combining adventure and regional books together within 160 pages?! Bad bad FR designers...they need to go back to D&D School.

Mysteries of the Moonsea was a (horrible) adventure/sourcebook hybrid. I think assuming that future FR adventures would use a similar format is not unreasonable, especially when the product description reinforces that by saying it will have information on Anauroch. And PARTICULARLY given that, if the product schedule is right, TWO WHOLE FREAKING YEARS will have passed without a regional FR sourcebook.

Whereas they are publishing regional books for Eberron up the wazoo. Even for regions that were supposed to be left for the DMs to develop.

Rich Baker said:
Cormyr and Shadowdale are really adventures; I think our marketing folks are stretching the definition of accessory. However, each includes an appendix that discusses source material relevant to each adventure. For example, Cormyr has an appendix discussing the region around the Vast Swamp, where the adventure takes place. Shadowdale obviously includes an appendix on Shadowdale. These bits of source material really don't account for more than 10 pages or so of each adventure, but it's certainly more than you will find in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting hardbound on those areas.

What Rich baker said for Shadowdale and Cormyr holds true for Anauroch, there's basically an appendix for Anauroch and the rest is adventure.

Um, huh?

- Well, I looked at the list that Nightfall linked to and there are no mini products listed after Unhallowed and nothing in the Icon line after the Blue Dragon, hence my statement and disappointment. I'm guessing they just haven't announced them yet, but there should be a minis set in July or June following the previous release schedule...

They're just very bad at updating that page for anything but D&D. (e.g. the Star Wars Saga Edition RPG can't be found there either).

There will be two Icon figures each year; the next will be announced at the D&D Experience.

The DDM set in July is "Night Below"; no word of the third set this year, but probably at D&D XP.

Cheers!

Clearly there are more products coming.

No minis listed after the ones coming soon.
Only one fantastic locations product listed.
No icons listed beyond Blue (Lidda has told us the next one will be revealed at DnDXP)
No fiendish codex III listed (come on, they must be writing one)
No dungeon tiles listed beyond the outdoor one (these sell fast around here, and must have a quicker turn time than an adventure or accessory)

Obviously these are in the pipe line, but aren't disclosed yet.

Dungeon Tiles V: Ruins of the Underdark is November or December.
