Wizard of the Coast Updated Product Listing!

Very very strange line up...

Wait now they're doing REGIONAL and ADVENTURE books combined?!?!

In 160 PAGES?!

Talk about screwing the FR fans over. I read the blurb on that Anauroch adventure. Apparently they stuck in Anauroch information on top of trying to sell the adventure itself. Total crap!

I miss the days of 2E Forgotten Realms...I really do.

I am interested in MAYBE Exemplars of Evil, and definitely Elder Evils. The Grand History of the Realms is a definite, as well as Complete Champion. Rules Compendium is "meh". I really hate the compendiums, especially when they're full of editing problems like Spell Compendium was.

Don't forget folks, there is another Complete book coming for the "warriors" and maybe one in the pipeline for psionics. We have yet to see 2008. Also I do want to add in I hope FCIII is in the works too.

Some interesting items on the list. I couldn't help but notice some of the late in the year publications (History, Confessions, Rules Compendium): Are these the Christmas gift items? Or end of the life cycle products? And there are a lot of adventures. Why the resurgence of adventures? Do they draw in new players? Has then been a shift in adventure sales? Or have the cost been brought down to make them more profitable?

But there are some gems in there.

I'll be taking a second look at the Dungeon Tiles, the Expedition to... books intrigue me, and Exemplars of Evil could be good.

Hmmm... theres certainly a few things on that list that interest me.

Is it me though, or is there nothing else on there for the environment series?

Richard Baker did state on the WotC boards awhile back that they are doing more adventures since they believe there's enough rule books. He said the problem was they just started such an initiative and so 2007 looks like all they're doing is adventure books which he says isn't entirely true. They have things scheduled up to the end of 2008 and there's adventure modules in 2008 but not as many as 2007 was.

Must get:
Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk
Expedition to the Demonweb Pits
Complete Champion

Might consider, depending on content:
Exemplars of Evil
D&D Dungeon Tiles 3,4,&5
Drow of the Underdark

After that, it looks like my wallet and my wife will be thanking me.

If I begged, would somebody be kind of enough to copy/paste the details here? I can't hit the wizards.com site from work...stupid firewall!

Thanks!
Okay, this is me begging!

Hmm, I'm not feeling it. I'll probably get Complete Champion. Maybe even the Drow book since it appears I'll have some extra cash for gaming this year...

I doubt I'll pick up anything else.

History of FR covered in 160 pages? Ahahaha.
www.candlekeep.com has something called The Grand History of the Forgotten Realms which is a free download with a timeline of the realms. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing with added commentary and content. The free pdf is written by Brian R. James and takes up 105 pages. It is NOT a detailed history just a consolidated timeline from all the books he could find and additinal notes from novels and such. Well worth the download.
