wizards forums are up

I am STILL not able to log in because it won't save changes to my profile (some of which, in any event, I object to having to make - why do they need to know my zip code, and what about non-US customers who don't have one?). The new boards are an epic fail, at least from where I sit.

Because the new boards are more then just discussion boards... They seem to be a social networking site. As such, it needs your zip code so it can do other stuff social networking sites do, like find other games near you you might know, or want to know, and let you know about stores and events near you and such.

Not sure if I'd go with epic fail... unless you mean an epic fail at getting YOU onboard, then sure.

Overall though, I think it's pretty neat.

Just put in any old gibberish, the site won't care. I can't tell you the number of "humourous" (well I thought so) pseudo-zip/postal codes I've put into forms over the years!

They already know your IP address, that's enough to narrow down your location pretty closely anyway.

As for the info not saving, do you use Firefox by chance? I've seen a lot of reports over there of the new software not working too well with Firefox. I don't use Firefox, but haven't had any problems with Opera, Chrome, or IE 6.

NOT IF I WEAR MY TINFOIL GLOVES THEY DON'T

"Also my hat of d02", -- N

Probably their plan all along. If you're wearing your tinfoil gloves you can't type out teh 3v!l tr00th about them, and when your hat of d02 keeps falling in front of your eyes, you can't read about it either.

That's what I was hoping to do but it ignores the larger point about it not saving.

I'll give it a shot in Chrome later on, though I'd rather use Firefox. Not using IE for anything is pretty much non-negotiable for me.

Don't get this either. Though you could enter any valid zip-code.

I didn't have any problems with Firefox, though. Strange.

Why the fear of inputting your zip code? What dastardly plan could WotC have with that particular piece of your personal information? It's not like they are asking for your social security number!
