Wizards killing products?

There is no publisher that can even come close to touching WotC for production values. None. Period. Seriously, is this a loaded question?

As far as game balance and editing The Book of Fiends, ToH II, and Advanced Bestiary easily trump MMIII.

Production values? I direct you to Spycraft 2.0. Gorgeous book.

And WotC would have released it over a 12 month period as 3 books rather than one.

Runner-ups: WFRP, Old World Beastiary, Conan RPG, Kingdoms of Kalamar Atlas

Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing...

There's a point where a book just becomes TOO big.

It's a big book, but WoTC has done large books before like say the Eberron campaign setting or the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. I think you're getting them mixed up with Black Industries and their treatment of the Warhammer line. :p

You are out of your skull, chief. See spycraft 2.0 for production values that should make WOTC
blush.

Seriously.

I'll agree with everything there but World of Warcraft. They screwed up the production values when they put screen shots of like normal stuff that wasn't the CGC cinemia. I was like, "Damn, that just ruined the book for me." Well, not quite, but at what point didn't they realize that those screen shots just looked like ass compared to the rest of the book?

In objective measures (quality paper, quality binding, color content, well-illustrated), Spycraft 2.0, M&MM, M&MM 2e, Redhurst, and quite a few other D20 System products, as well as a whole slew of non-D20 System books, easily make the cut.

Once you add in subjective measures, the numbers can get a whole heck of a lot higher. I find Arcana Unearthed, Arcana Evolved, Iron Heroes, Fantasy Bestiary, Spycraft 1, Shadowforce Archer, MMS:WE, MS:E&C, Primeval Groves (and the other books in that line), and quite a few others, all to be both better-illusttrated than most WotC books and, more importantly, much easier to read, in terms of layout and editing.

And that's just sticking to D20 System stuff. If i were to start considering other games, the list would get really long, and really put WotC, with their money and market muscle, to shame.

Erik,

Trust me, I don't believe it. I especially don't believe ESPECIALLY when it comes to how much both Dungeon and Dragon have grown, AND with the addition of what I consider the best adventures since Tomb of Horrors and Temple of Elemental Evil with Age of Worms and Shackled City.
