Interesting PhD dissertation on women in RPGing.

Wow, I'm amazed that he was able to get a Dissertation Committee to sign off on such a project! Qualitative rather than Quantitative studies are usually far more difficult to accomplish. I would have loved to have been present during his dissertation defense session.

It is partly quantitative; there's a fair amount of survey work with rating responses. I haven't read through the dissertation carefully yet but there doesn't appear to be much statistical analysis if that's what you mean. From my cursory look though, the thesis seems OK.

I've heard of much more obscure dissertations so I'm not all that surprised that he was awarded the degree. It certainly isn't the first academic thesis on gamers.
