Wonderfalls: Wound-up Penguin [Spoilers]

God, I love this show. The title of last week's ep was classic. :)

Anyway. The nun on the run concept was hilarious. Especially when they thought she was a hooker and the "man in black" was her pimp. Good stuff!

My favorite line was Jaye's panicked response to the nun's whole "Do you believe" line during the 'exorcism.' "No. Yes! Can you repeat the second part?!"

I also have to say that the scene with the reunion got me all choked up. The music is what got me. Seriously...

I am very upset that they are moving this show to Thursday nights. Are they nuts? Putting it up against The Apprentice? *sigh* That Trump guy cracks me up but Wonderfalls is a much better program. I'd like to watch both but I can't which really annoys me (gotta work and the TiVo only can record the one show at a time). My fear is that they move it around so much that people can't find it. As usual Fox has a hit on their hands and they don't know what to do with it. Why not put it on Tuesdays and move either 24 or American Idol to Friday?

Yeah, Fox is sticking true to form here. The show won't last past this season, is my guess. Curse you, Fox!

On the other hand, if it weren't going up against The Apprentice, I'd think Thursday night was the ideal night for it. Friday night is a lousy night for a show geared toward an 19-34 audience, as Wonderfalls clearly is; Thurs is much better, and the show is likely to appeal to Tru Calling fans for multiple reasons (supernatural element, cute female lead, Joss Whedon's coattails). If you're a fan of Tru Calling for some god-knows-why reasons, you're likely to stay tuned for Wonderfalls.

Whereas if you're a fan of Playing it Straight, Fox's hideous recent foray into the realm of reality TV and the show that came on immediately before the Friday slot, then you're probably the sort of drooling mouthbreather that Jaye is constantly mocking, and you won't want to watch yourself being insulted.

Not that I'm stereotyping or anything :).

You're right, shilsen -- even better! This puts it up against Extreme Makeover, Friends, and Survivor All-Star, which seems a much better set of competition. Friends seems the closest competition demographics-wise, and isn't it in repeats now?

Huh -- on looking at it again, though, I'm not so sure. I was looking at Yahoo's listings, and they list WF as coming on Thursday at eight when I look the show up specifically, but when I look at general listings, they show it coming on Friday at nine. Grrr....

edit: and on seraching again, I'm seeing WF listed as Thursday at 9. I give up.

If it's on Thursday at 9pm, they're screwed. That's against the juggernaut known as CSI, and frankly, if I had to pick one or the other, I'd probably STILL stay with CSI. Mind you, I'll probably tape WF tomorrow, but as a neilsen pick, putting it against CSI is dooming it, IMO.

Now that I check around the official site a bit more...

Look at the 'episodes' link. They are showing them out of order. This does not bode well. At least we know that there are 8 more we haven't seen yet. Grr. Argh.

I read somewhere that Time Minear said that they are being shown in the order they are ment to and not the order they were filmed. I don't have a link to where I read it any longer, so I could have dreamed it. ;)
