Some big names are ditching Pax East because of the Coronavirus, at this rate the whole thing will just a be a Swen doing a Baldur's Gate 3 Demonstration.
Does no one care how quickly Pax East is being depopulated?
Not really. Even if the event is cancelled, the companies that would have announced things there will just release the stuff online.
I'd rather have them stay home than potentially get someone sick, as the companies say people's safety matters more than a measly conference.
Even if Pax gets tanked and the BG3 event cancelled, I try to keep it in perspective. Lots of people affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak (jeez that name makes it sound like a Shadowrun adventure hook) far worse than not getting to see their videogame as soon.
I mean, I definitely am excited about the game! And I hope the event doesn't get cancelled, that would be a bummer. But it's just a minor hype event, the real thing will be how good the game is, and I haven't seen anything saying that the game itself will be affected.
I agree 100% but I still maintain that it's no where near wide spread enough in the area to justify cancelling it, one person in the area was found with it and that is it.
I believe there are 200 cases across South Korea and two have died.
That is extremely sad, and I look forward to a cure and vaccine 110% and I'm looking into making a donation, but Pax East is not in South Korea.
On the one hand, I agree with you. I think that the media is having a grand old time whipping up hysteria about the outbreak, and that it isn't the world-toppling pandemic that some people have been led to believe.I agree 100% but I still maintain that it's no where near wide spread enough in the area to justify cancelling it, one person in the area was found with it and that is it.
