I'm referencing an old story Bertrand Russel used to tell. Seems a gentleman was explaining to him how the world was really the shell of a great turtle carried on the backs of four huge elephants, or something to that effect. Russel asked what the elephants stood upon. His answer was "more elephants". He asked what those stood upon. "More elephants." He persisted and his friend told him that before they went any further, he must understand that it's elephants all the way down.

I saw a parallel with your question as to who would design the Designer.
