I chimed in with Spell Focus before I read the thread and discovered the previously-unknown-to-me changes to Wildshape. What I read sounds plain dumb. Let's not forget that Wildshape is a MAGICAL ability and it isn't much of a stretch to suggest that a druid (who has a mystical connection to nature) might pick up Scent or Low-Light Vision in addition to mere physical changes.

Was this previously so abusive/broken that this change was required? I don't have lots of on-the-ground experience with druids...

The term "worst" is relative thus even if a person liked ALL the changes there would still be some changes s/he liked less than others thus that person would choose that option in the above pool. (Sorry for being anal :)

If you were truly anal, you'd include the option ;)

What you're suggesting is actually an assumption on your part (or the pollster's part), and leading.

Not that these Internet polls are scientific in any way or any of what I'm saying truly matters. :)

This question applies to most of the things on the 'worst' list above. I truly think WotC changed a lot of things just to change things - not to make them better.

I voted for the Spell Focus change. In my last session my cleric, with a WIS 16 and Spell Focus: Enchantment (3.0) must have cast 5 enchantment spells and every single creature (hill giants, ogres, humans) made their save. And now they want to reduce her power even more in 3.5. Fun galore!

I really have no serious problems with any of them. The paladin mount thing may or may not come out a trifle strange. I'm not 100% happy with the all but total removal of effects that increase save DCs. I have mixed feelings about the whole save every round thing for holds. But overall, theres nothing that was done that I really dislike.
Theres a couple things however that they DIDNT do that I am slightly annoyed with(not fully addressing Half Elves and Sorcerers for instance).
One of the things I do like is the new DR, and I am quite tired of hearing people go on about "golfbags". Andy Collins has said there are only going to be THREE weapon substances in the core books: Silver, Iron and Adamantine. And in the conversion guide for MM2 and Fiend Folio, about 80% of things have DR X/magic.

A druid can now wildshape into a tendriculos for 1 hour/caster level multiple times per day. Yes, something had to be changed.

I think they used an oversized hammer on this one, but I see why they did it.

I didn't think there were many good cleric Enchantment spells. However, I did notice that hill giants have a low Will save. If you were using Mass Command, perhaps they just didn't understand you.

3 Weapon substances, 4 Alignments, 3 Weapon Types, 2 "Magic" varieties (magic & epic) and all kinds of combinations thereof, especially at higher levels. I'd say the golf bag claims are not completely out of line...

A'koss.

Some characters will decide (if they can afford to do it) to carry around a number of different weapons with different factors. I dont see how this is a problem. It could even be an interesting roleplaying factor for some characters.
But I dont believe that EVERY character is going to carry around a half dozen different weapons, or that it will be necssary to do so to be effective, especialy considering that most creatures still just have DR X/magic. and many of the more exotic ones are either extremely powerful creatures, or they have low dr numbers.
And lets face it in most games, the only one of the alignment factors thats going to matter much is good/holy.

i voted for the whole SF/GSF thing. *ugh*
on equal footing is the changes to the buff spells.

Archers shouldn't have been nerfed

somehow i must have missed this. how exactly?
(oh and Enceladus, i agree completely! sorry A'koss :p)
