Worst Character Name

Not the worst (not even a BAD one), but the one that most people choke on:

Arlíon Errelyn síol Tal'Amyh t'un Léarama. Yup, elves all have names like that on Mundana. Except for the Henéa - they run naked in the woods instead.

The name means Arlíon (surname) Errelyn (family name) of house Tal'Amyh of tribe Léaram.

I have no problems pronouncing it, though. But then again, I did some work on the Elven module for Eon. :D

Na'helidi nehshon'iv ra'ne'ari sennies.

I dont know about worst, but the topic did stir up memories of a MERP game where one guy played a Warrior Monk named Slim. He died at first level, so his next character used the same characger sheet, and he was named Son of Slim. He lasted considerably longer.

Onan the Barbarian (Look up the word onan in the dictionary)
Keebler the Elf
Mother Dearest (the priest)
Dork the Orc (assassin)

and

Hung-Way-Low (the gnomish priest)

I seem to remember module B1, In Search of the Unknown, coming with a list of pre-defined characters, some of which had pretty awful names.

What's that? Someone dissing B1 In Search of the Unknown? I won't stand for it!

I have my copy of B1 handy let's just look at those 'awful names' shall we.

There were some people I knew in high school who had characters with the following bad names:

Stupidius
Superthorondus
and the worst of all ...
Typewriterus Ringerus.

I tend to use historic/mythic names in my campaign world. Why to avoid things like Upchuk the Barbarian and Princess Oolala. (You may remember these names from an old Dragon article on names.)

Not all of these are actual bad names, just ones I found funny.

Sir Loopy the True: Human Paladin

El Baracho Macho (The Mighty Drunk): Halfling revolutionary fighter with molotov cocktails.

Doom Bunny: Half-elf ranger with permanent alter self. Vengeful protector of forest creatures

Gruthag Puddlejumper: half-orc paladin of Yondalla, raised by halflings, and unaware he is not a halfling.
