When it asked "how many people in your current 5E gaming groups did you personally introduce to the game?" is "the game" D&D or D&D5E in specific?

Because the answer is 1 for the former but 5 for the latter.

I think they'll be using another mechanic for half-species going forward.

They want me to remember gaming purchases I made back when I first played D&D in 1982?
Hard to forget my first purchase in 91 or 92: The 2nd edition DM's Screen with the Terrible Trouble at Tragidore adventure.

Yep, the first purchase I made was a DM screen before I had anything else. I had no idea what I was doing and I make sure I mention it in every survey that asks about my first D&D purchase!

It was a bit long, but I finished it. Asked a few unexpected questions, but most of it was pretty much what I expected to see.

I doubt much of my feedback will have any impact at all...but by definition it cannot have less impact than if I had said nothing.

I dont recall when 1E went out of print officially but I recall seeing 1E, 2E and Basic D&D on the same shelves at game stores, bookstores and hobby shops well into the mid-90s. This certainly made it a problem for those who didnt know the difference between the various editions and campaign settings.

The bookstore I bought my first item from only stocked the 2E stuff, so I was inadvertently lucky in that regard.

Not so much with the actual choice that I made!

Do you think anybody but the most serious of grognards would have the patience to sit through nearly 100 questions, many involving individually selecting 20+ options and rating on a 3 point scale?
It probably took me 45 minutes. I can tell you the teenagers in my group lose interest even in character generation taking that long.
