WotC warped book covers...

Just checked, my MM2 is slightly warped (about 1/2° deviation from a flat surface). Not much a problem, when compared to the funky golden softcovers of my Mage: the Ascension sourcebooks (like Book of Shadows) -- they used several distinct sheets on the covers to get the shiny visual effects, and as a result, if you didn't put another book on it, the cover just roll and spiral over time. It could be very impressive if you left it long enough.

I'm from Arlington, but I've been living in Dublin, Ireland the last 18 months.....

Ahhh Dublin...what a great city. I spent some time over there studying literature back when I was 18. Where in Dublin are you staying - downtown or in one of the MANY surrounding areas? I lived in Killiney (oh so posh), spent lots of time in Dalkey (my girlfriend lived there) and went to school downtown. How are you enjoying it out there? I am also green with envy! ;)

And I thought it was my FLGS. Yeah, my Fiend Folio is warped pretty bad (and I grabbed the best one from the stack).

Both my Fiend Folio and Races of Faerun were warp-free!

Has anyone else had difficulty with the PAPER though?

I was reading Races of Faerun, and I suffered from a little bit of "sweating thumb" syndrome. When I moved my thumb, I had succeeded in blurring out some text.

Now I have to be very careful not to grip the book where text is.

I'll chime in and say I haven't bought A&EG, SS, or the FF all because of the horribly warped covers. Though I might buy one and try this voodoo sponge trick.

Howdy!

I just wanted to say that I have also seen the same things with the last bunch of hardcovers at my local store. I can't recall which was the first one with the cover problem, though. I don't know if it is just this year's batch or if it goes back to last year's releases as well.

Yup, but I have that problem with just about any book.

What they do is actually just to wipe down the books' inside covers, on the endpapers, with a damp sponge.

This works, if you're careful you can do it yourself. I didn't want to post anything and start a big soggy book thing and have everyone lynch me. :) I had to do it with my ToH book.

It works if you're careful. Remember, CAAAARRREFUULLLLLLL!!

Drawmack,

This is not funny. Could you have given your Gnomish army more specific instructions? About a dozen of them are hiding in my girlfriend's apartment. Draw, she only has one bathroom, you hear what I'm saying? And all they want to do is watch gameshows and hack websites all day. Government websites, corporate websites and some of the oddest porno sites you could imagine, hack, hack, hack all day long. Seriously, get the little people out of there hunh? After dinner they forced me to read Piratecat's story hour to them, claiming that you do that for them all the time.... I like P=-kitty's story hour as much as the next person (assuming they aren't a gnome), but this is out of hand.

I'm sorry about that but let me give you some helpful tips.

1) Provide them with a bucket and they'll leave the toilet alone.

2) Stop your modem from autodialing they haven't learned how to fix that yet.

3) I don't read them P-Kitty's story hour, I read them my story hour.
