I would allow one but not two spells to affect the arrow, and also the bow.

So flame arrow plus cold bow: okay

Lightning arrow + cold bow: also okay

But a single arrow being enchanted by both flame and lightning? Probably a good idea to not allow stacking.

If you found a way to enchant the arrow with flame and the *bow* with lightning, however, that'd be okay.

Sure. I'd allow stacking elements plenty of resources spent on amping that damage. I know it might seem strange to stack multiple elements, but that :):):):) is magic.

I would allow it. They are using up resources to achieve something cool, and I always try to reward that sort of resourcefulness.

Yeah, I'd allow it. First of all, unless I'm missing something... and could be, there's nothing in the rules that says this doesn't work, so why stop it? And secondly, the characters are expending resources to do this, so again, why not?

It's not like they're getting this damage boost for nothing, you're talking about two spells being cast, actions are being used, and if I recall flame arrows is a concentration spell so that's not an insignificant investment. Would you stop the sorcerer from targeting the enemy with firebolt just because the ranger just shot the same enemy with lightning arrow? I'd imagine not.

Anyway, I'm all for it, but some folk may not like the idea of layering that much magic on one arrow, so do what feels best for your game.

HAHAHAHAHAA! Phoooooo. Ahhh aheh. ha. <wipes tear from eye> Wow, that's rich. Ahaha. ahhhhhh.

Thanks for the morning chuckle. I needed that.

ehem. Um...that'd be a "Nice try, but no." on the Allow-O-Meter.

Whenever a player uses a significant resource I am happy to allow interesting interactions. It's not like they can do this all day, and they are doing these actions instead of other actions. I don't see any reason why such an interaction would be suspect. the effect they are achieving is cool but not broken. if it feels strong it is because you are seeing the end result of preparation and the use of more actions than just the one attack. imagine instead each action was used to cast another damaging effect and see if it leads to similar damage. Maybe the sorcerer fireballs a half dozen enemies. Is the flame arrow giving much more damage to the combination than that?
