I was wondering who would be interested in a setting based off of dnd that included several new classes and races based on video games. Just curious after I had made a Kirby race (which can be found in house rules) if I should continue makign races and classes to form a complete setting.

As always, it depends on the setting. Ones for RPGs, like Suikoden (nice avatar, btw) or Final Fantasy Tactics would be cool. The more action-style games, I'd be concerned that all there would be is hack and slash.

Still, if I enjoyed the game, I'd probably give the book a glance-thru. Much like Farscape.

I've used Devil May Cry (1 and 2) for inspiration. For instance, the animated marionettes can be rapidly made as fiend-possessed objects (rules from the Book of Vile Darkness) which are statted as medium-sized constructs. Some of the swords and weapons would make interesting magical items for powerful D&D characters, too; I like that they all have a name and kind of uniqueness. The way weapons are upgradeable in the console game is also a good concept for D&D weapons.

honestly it depends, although I'd probably just say no as being the rule. Let me give an example: EverQuest RPG. The book is great, from what I understand the rules are sound. The problem that I'd see with running this game is having people who have played the game constantly disrupting with anecdotes, commenting on how the game is different, etc.

If the game was well done I might get it for crunchy bits to put into my own game.

DC

I'd like to see an official final fantasy D20 supplement that handled the weird stuff like FF7 and 9. A Resident Evil rpg (hopefully Eden can get a liscense for use with AFMBE) would be cool too.

Also, if I did go about doing this is would be a free document/later pdf, that I would have put up on the internet. It would cover alot of games, more RPG then action, the list of good games choices is something like:

Suikoden (1,2,3)
Final Fantasy (2/4,3/6,5,7, possibly 8,9&10)
Final Fantasy Tactics
Kirby (Kirby Superstar mainly)
Wild Arms (1, possibly 2,3)
Ogre Battle (March of the Black Queen)
Secret of Mana
Seiken Destnusa 3 (Bad spelling, Secret of Mana 2)
Legend of Mana
Some Megaman (possibly)
CastleVania Things
ChronoTrigger (and maybe some chrono cross)
Maybe a Mario Brothers bit
Maybe some metriod bits

What the Book/document would include would be

Some Core Classes
Some Core Races
Some PrCs
SOme New Spells
Some New Items
and Maybe a bit about the different games Respective worlds.

If anyone would like to help me, I may actually begin this project one day.
